Towards Automatic Traffic Classification

International Conference on Networking and Services (ICNS '07), 2007
Classification of network traffic recently has attracted a great deal of interest as it plays important roles in many areas such as traffic engineering, service class mapping, network management etc. One of the challenging issues for existing detection schemes is that they need prior manual analysis to detect unknown traffic, which is infeasible to ...

Adaptive automatic classification on the Web

Proceedings 11th International Workshop on Database and Expert Systems Applications, 2002
The paper explores the motives and issues associated with automatic classification on the Web. Experimental software tools are introduced which enable the automatic generation of vocabularies, representing any given classification scheme, using pre-classified documents.

Deep Convolutional Neural Networks for Feature-Less Automatic Classification of Independent Components in Multi-Channel Electrophysiological Brain Recordings

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2019
Objective: Interpretation of the electroencephalographic (EEG) and magnetoencephalographic (MEG) signals requires off-line artifacts removal. Since artifacts share frequencies with brain activity, filtering is insufficient.

Automatic baggage detection and classification

2011 11th International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications, 2011
In this paper we propose an enhanced approach to automatic baggage detection in CCTV video footage that addresses some of the shortcomings of state-of-the-art algorithms and a novel approach to the subsequent recognition of their type. The proposed approach consists of standard steps used in baggage detection, namely, the estimation of moving direction

The automatic classification of the welding defects

ICASSP '87. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
The theory of digital image processing and pattern recognition was used to slove the problem of identifing the welding defects automatically in this paper. Author implemented restraining noise enhancing and two valuizing on the original welding X-ray picture. Feature extraction and the design of the classfier was also implemented.

Automatic classification of pavement crack using deep convolutional neural network

International Journal of Pavement Engineering, 2018
The classification of pavement crack heavily relies on the engineers’ experience or the hand-crafted algorithms. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) has demonstrated to be useful for image classification, which provides an alternative to traditional ...

Automatic classification of audio data

2004 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37583), 2005
In this work a novel content-based musical genre classification approach that uses combination of classifiers is proposed. First, musical surface features and beat related features are extracted from different segments of digital music in MP3 format. Three 15-dimensional feature vectors are extracted from three different parts of a music clip and three

On the automatic classification of pitch movements

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1993
The design of an algorithm that classifies pitch movements is discussed. The algorithm consists of two steps: (a) a training phase, which is based on a labeled training corpus of 249 grammatical Dutch sentences, and (b) the recognition phase. The IPO labeling system [J.’t Hart etal., APerceptualStudyofIntonation.

Multi-level learning features for automatic classification of field crop pests

Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 2018
The classification of pest species in field crops, such as corn, soybeans, wheat, and canola, is still challenging because of the tiny appearance differences among pest species.

ACS: an automatic classification system

Journal of Information Science, 1995
In this paper, we introduce ACS: an automatic classifica tion system for school libraries. First, various approaches towards automatic classification, namely (i) rule-based, (ii) browse and search, and (iii) partial match, are critically reviewed. The central issues of scheme selection, text analysis and similarity measures are discussed.
