Automatic control for variable ratio frequency converters

Electrical Engineering, 1931
An automatic switching equipment for the control of two 20,000-kw. frequency changer sets using the Scherbius method of load and power factor control has been in successful operation at the Page Avenue station of the Union Electric Light and Power Company of St. Louis, for almost a year.

Automatic frequency control: Theory and simulation

2008 IEEE International Conference on Automation and Logistics, 2008
The theory and simulation of a base line automatic frequency control, AFC, are proposed in this paper. The AFC is used to track the voltage controlled temperature compensated crystal oscillator (VCTCXO) drift. It is required to lock on to a valid signal at some frequency offset of a pre-determined range.

The Frequency Response of Automatic Control Systems

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1946
This paper illustrates the advantages of the frequency response approach to the analysis of automatic control systems, as contrasted to the analytic solution of transient responses. At the same time the equivalence of information available from the two approaches is demonstrated.
