Automatic Video Database Indexing and Retrieval

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 1997

Automatic indexing of software artifacts

Proceedings of 1994 3rd International Conference on Software Reuse, 2002
This paper describes the classification mechanism of ROSA, a software reuse system based on the processing of the natural language descriptions of software artifacts. The system supports the automatic indexing of components by acquiring lexical, syntactic and semantic information from software descriptions.

Automatic text recognition for video indexing

Proceedings of the fourth ACM international conference on Multimedia - MULTIMEDIA '96, 1996
Efficient indexing and retrieval of digital video is an important aspect of video databases. One powerful index for retrieval is the text appearing in them. It enables content- based browsing. We present our methods for automatic segmentation and recognition of text in digital videos.

Thesaurus-Based Automatic Indexing

2009
In this chapter, we present a thesaurus application in the field of text mining and more specifically automatic indexing on the set of descriptors defined by a thesaurus. We begin by presenting various definitions and a mathematical thesaurus model, and also describe various examples of real world thesauri which are used in official institutions.

An experiment in automatic indexing

American Documentation, 1965
AbstractThis report describes a method of indexing documents which is based on the assumptions, (1) that a subset of the words in a document can be an effective index to that document and, (2) that this subject can be approximated by selecting those words from the document whose frequencies are statistically unexpectedly high.
