DigiChrom: A Domain Ontology for Semantic Representation of Trivalent Chromium Platings and Its Large Language Model‐Based Alignment With Multiple Mid‐Level Ontologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Digitalizing electroplating requires both domain knowledge and interoperability. This work introduces PlatOn, a domain ontology for trivalent chromium plating and coating characterization, and a hybrid pipeline that aligns it to a mid‐level reference ontology by combining eight similarity metrics with language model reasoning. Expert‐validated mappings

Automatic license plate recognition on microprocessors and custom computing platforms: A review

open access: yesIET Image Processing, 2021
Automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) is the process of extracting and recognizing character information within a localized license plate region. Typically, ALPR involves three steps; image capture, image procession and plate recognition.

Automatic Arabic License Plate Recognition [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer and Electrical Engineering, 2011
 Abstract—Automatic License Plate (LP) recognition uses optical character recognition to read LPs on vehicles, such system is essential for traffic control, theft control, electronic toll collection, parking lots access and/or billing. The proposed Arabic LP recognition system is applied to Saudi Arabian LPs which have two different formats. Therefore,

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Silicone Phase Behavior Resolves the Softness–Surface Functionality Trade‐Off in Emerging Stretchable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrasoft silicone elastomers often sacrifice surface functionality for mechanical compliance. In Mold Star, low‐molecular‐weight species form a dispersed phase that weakens the network and passivates the surface. Solvent extraction removes this phase, unexpectedly improving both extensibility and metallization performance, enabling conductive ...
