Layered HARQ Design for LDPC-Based Multi-Level Coded Modulation

open access: yesEntropy
Multi-level coded modulation (MLCM) enhances data transmission by allocating error correction more effectively to bits with higher error probabilities, thus optimizing redundancy and improving performance.

A Study on Packet Scheduling Algorithms for Healthcare Contents over Fifth Generation (5G) Mobile Cellular Network [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications, 2020
This paper models the downlink Fifth Generation (5G) network that supports a flexible frame structure and a shorter Round-Trip Time (RTT) for Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ). Moreover, the design of the renowned Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA)

Modeling and Analysis of Resequencing Delay in Selective Repeat Automatic Repeat Request

open access: yesJournal of Networks, 2010
In selective repeat automatic repeat request (SRARQ) used by a transmitter-receiver pair, data packets correctly received by the receiver need to be delivered to its upper-layer protocol in the same order as they arrived at the transmitter from its upper-layer protocol .

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral

Throughput and Delay Analysis of Cognitive Go-Back-N Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest Using Discrete-Time Markov Modelling

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2016
Cognitive radio (CR) techniques have been proposed for improving the spectral efficiency by exploiting the temporarily unoccupied segments of the licensed spectrum, provided that the transmission of primary users (PUs) is not hampered.

Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

Goodput Maximization of HARQ-IR Over Arbitrarily Correlated Rician Fading Channels

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper investigates the optimal design of hybrid automatic repeat request with incremental redundancy (HARQ-IR) over arbitrarily correlated Rician fading channels for goodput maximization.

Clinical Outcomes of SEEG‐Guided Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation in Children With Focal Drug‐Resistant Epilepsy: A Multicenter Real‐World Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Stereoelectroencephalography‐guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation (SEEG‐RFTC) has emerged as a safe and effective minimally invasive treatment for children with drug‐resistant focal epilepsy. Although evidence from real‐world studies remains limited, numerous pediatric cases have demonstrated promising outcomes. This retrospective

Multiple ARQ Processes for MIMO Systems

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
We propose a new automatic repeat request (ARQ) scheme for MIMO systems with multiple transmit and receive antennas. The substreams emitted from various transmit antennas encounter distinct propagation channels and thus have different error statistics ...
