In this manuscript, the processability of X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 powder coated with silicon carbide, silicon, and silicon nitride nanoparticles is investigated. The amount of nanoparticles varies from 0.25 to 1 vol%. By coating the powder feedstock material with nanoparticles, an enlargement of the process window and an increase in the build rate are achieved.

This study explores the use of laser‐induced forward transfer in the picosecond regime to create in vitro biomodels. Focusing on hydrodynamics and rheology, it investigates jet dynamics through time‐resolved imaging, optimizing laser fluence, biological ink viscosity, and printing distance to precisely control the volume and location of bioink ...

Fuzzy Automaton as a Detection Mechanism for the Multi-Step Attack
International Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology, 2019The integration of a fuzzy system and automaton theory can form the concept of fuzzy automaton. This integration allows a discretely defined state-machine to act on continuous universes and handle uncertainty in applications like Intrusion Detection ...

Approximate computing is an emerging paradigm enabling tradeoffs between accuracy and efficiency. However, a fundamental challenge persists: state-of-the-art techniques lack the ability to enforce runtime guarantees on accuracy.

Granular Synthesis of Sounds by Means of a Cellular Automaton
, 2017Chaosynth is a new sound synthesis system being developed by the author and others working at Edinburgh University. Chaosynth functions by generating a large amount of short sonic events, or particles, in order to form larger, complex sound events.

The Cellular Automaton Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics
, 2014When investigating theories at the tiniest conceivable scales in nature, almost all researchers today revert to the quantum language, accepting the verdict from the Copenhagen doctrine that the only way to describe what is going on will always involve ...

Contract as Automaton: The Computational Representation of Financial Agreements
, 2015We show that the fundamental legal structure of a well-written financial contract follows a state-transition logic that can be formalized mathematically as a finite-state machine (also known as a finite-state automaton).

Integrate and Fire Pulse Train Automaton for QRS detection
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2014Monitoring heart activity from electrocardiograms (ECG) is crucial to avoid unnecessary fatalities; therefore, detection of QRS complex is fundamental to automated ECG monitoring. Continuous, portable 24/7 ECG monitoring requires wireless technology with
