Maximum number of zeroes of polynomials on weighted projective spaces over a finite field
Abstract We compute the maximum number of rational points at which a homogeneous polynomial can vanish on a weighted projective space over a finite field, provided that the first weight is equal to 1. This solves a conjecture by Aubry, Castryck, Ghorpade, Lachaud, O'Sullivan and Ram, which stated that a Serre‐like bound holds with equality for weighted

Cohomogeneity‐one solitons in Laplacian flow: Local, smoothly‐closing and steady solitons
Abstract We initiate a systematic study of cohomogeneity‐one solitons in Bryant's Laplacian flow of closed G2$\text{G}_2$‐structures on a 7‐manifold, motivated by the problem of understanding finite‐time singularities of that flow. Here, we focus on solitons with symmetry groups Sp(2)${\rm Sp}(2)$ and SU(3)${\rm SU}(3)$; in both cases, we prove the ...

The N‐prime graph and the Subgroup Isomorphism Problem
Abstract We introduce a directed graph related to a group G$G$, which we call the N‐prime graph ΓN(G)$\Gamma _{\rm {N}}(G)$ of G$G$ and is a refinement of the classical Gruenberg–Kegel graph. The vertices of ΓN(G)$\Gamma _{\rm {N}}(G)$ are the primes p$p$ such that G$G$ has an element of order p$p$, and, for distinct vertices p$p$ and q$q$, the arc q→p$

Elementary abelianp-groups as automorphism groups of infinite groups. I
If G is a group we will write Aut G for the group of all automorphisms of G and Inn G for the normal subgroup of all inner automorphisms of G. Many authors have studied the relationship between the structure of G and that of Aut G, in particular when the latter is finite. This paper is a further contribution to this study.

Automorphism groups of P1$\mathbb {P}^1$‐bundles over geometrically ruled surfaces
Abstract We classify the pairs (X,π)$(X,\pi)$, where π:X→S$\pi \colon X\rightarrow S$ is a P1$\mathbb {P}^1$‐bundle over a non‐rational geometrically ruled surface S$S$ and Aut∘(X)$\mathrm{Aut}^\circ (X)$ is relatively maximal, that is, maximal with respect to the inclusion in the group Bir(X/S)$\mathrm{Bir}(X/S)$.

Coulomb branch algebras via symplectic cohomology
Abstract Let (M¯,ω)$(\bar{M}, \omega)$ be a compact symplectic manifold with convex boundary and c1(TM¯)=0$c_1(T\bar{M})=0$. Suppose that (M¯,ω)$(\bar{M}, \omega)$ is equipped with a convex Hamiltonian G$G$‐action for some connected, compact Lie group G$G$.

Infinitely generated free nilpotent groups: completeness of the automorphism groups [PDF]
AbstractWe transfer the results of Dyer, Formanek and Kassabov on the automorphism towers of finitely generated free nilpotent groups to infinitely generated free nilpotent groups. We prove that the automorphism groups of infinitely generated free nilpotent groups are complete. By combining the results of Dyer, Formanek and Kassabov with the results in

Infinity‐operadic foundations for embedding calculus
Abstract Motivated by applications to spaces of embeddings and automorphisms of manifolds, we consider a tower of ∞$\infty$‐categories of truncated right modules over a unital ∞$\infty$‐operad O$\mathcal {O}$. We study monoidality and naturality properties of this tower, identify its layers, describe the difference between the towers as O$\mathcal {O}$

A Kazhdan group with an infinite outer automorphism group
D. Kazhdan has introduced in 1967 the Property (T) for local compact groups. In this article we prove that for $n\geq 3$ and $m \in \mathbb{N}$ the group $SL_n(\textbf{K})\ltimes \mathcal{M}_{n,m}(\textbf{K})$ is a Kazhdan group having the outer automorphism group infinite.

The pants graph of a free group
Abstract We introduce the concept of a pants decomposition for a finitely generated free group and construct the corresponding pants graph. A pants decomposition of a free group leads to the formation of a simplicial graph, referred to as the pants graph of a free group, consisting of all possible pants decompositions.
