Nanolayer‐Encapsulated Stretchable Liquid‐Metal Sheets for Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A stretchable liquid metal sheet with both high thermal conductivity and mechanical flexibility is developed. Its trilayer structure, comprising copper‐particle‐dispersed gallium liquid metal encapsulated by styrene‐butadiene‐styrene nanosheets, shows 40.4 W m−1 K−1 conductivity, elongation exceeding 200%, and retention of 96% of its initial ...

Novel Functional Materials via 3D Printing by Vat Photopolymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective systematically analyzes strategies for incorporating functionalities into 3D‐printed materials via Vat Photopolymerization (VP). It explores the spectrum of achievable functionalities in recently reported novel materials—such as conductive, energy‐storing, biodegradable, stimuli‐responsive, self‐healing, shape‐memory, biomaterials, and

Self-organising agent communities for autonomic resource management

open access: yes, 2012
The autonomic computing paradigm addresses the operational challenges presented by increasingly complex software systems by proposing that they be composed of many autonomous components, each responsible for the run-time reconfiguration of its own ...

In Situ 3D Bioprinting: Impact of Cross‐Linking on the Adhesive Properties of Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ 3D bioprinting enables the direct deposition of cell‐laden, adhesive biomaterials for on‐site tissue regeneration. This review provides a comprehensive overview of how cross‐linking influences the bioadhesive properties of hydrogels used in 3D bioprinting, highlighting cross‐linking triggers, bioadhesion mechanisms, polymer interpenetration ...

Cardiovascular Consequences of Unfair Pay [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper investigates physiological responses to perceptions of unfair pay. In a simple principal agent experiment agents produce revenue by working on a tedious task. Principals decide how this revenue is allocated between themselves and their agents.

Social Ethic Behavior Simulation Project [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Ethics has usually been considered as the domain of the intrinsic personal belief. Some even claimed that no objective knowledge of ethics is possible. We propose a quite new way of approaching the problem.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Swarm autonomic agents with self-destruct capability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Systems, methods and apparatus are provided through which in some embodiments an autonomic entity manages a system by generating one or more stay alive signals based on the functioning status and operating state of the system.

Shaping of Biohybrid Functional Living Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a strategy for shaping living mycelium into functional materials by directing its natural growth. Nanoparticles armor hyphae, micron‐scale particles entangle within the network, and printed hydrogel architectures steer expansion, creating defined geometries.
