Autonomous Navigation of Bio‐Intelligent Cyborg Insect Based on Insect Visual Perception

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The bio‐intelligent cyborg insect (BCI) introduces a noninvasive ultraviolet‐based control method, leveraging natural sensory behaviors for adaptive navigation. By integrating biological and artificial intelligence, BCI minimizes habituation and enhances locomotion in complex environments.

Design, Modeling, and Control of a Soft Robotic Diaphragm‐Assist Device in a Respiratory Simulator

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A soft robotic diaphragm‐assist device using fabric‐based pneumatic actuators with a 2‐step control system to optimize synchronization and support is introduced. This system can detect the initiation of breathing to trigger assistance and regulate pressures to provide the correct level of inhalation augmentation. Validation and testing are completed on

Advances in Invertebrate Biohybrid Robotics: Leveraging Nature for Locomotion and Sensing in Engineered Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This review explores invertebrate biohybrid robots that integrate living organisms—such as insects, jellyfish, spiders, and sea slugs—into robotic systems for locomotion, sensing, and actuation. The advantages in efficiency and cost, discuss control, and power challenges are highlighted, and future considerations to guide the development of sustainable,

Bioinspired Fully On‐Chip Learning Implemented on Memristive Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work proposes a memristive neural network based on van der Waals ferroelectric memristors and contrastive Hebbian learning, enabling fully on‐chip learning. The system achieves over 98% accuracy in pattern recognition with low power consumption (0.321 nJ/image) and high robustness, paving the way for efficient, bioinspired neuromorphic computing ...
