The Autonomous Local Community
1989Only in the autonomous local community can individual rehabilitation goals be addressed; can necessary exceptions be made with specific clients without creating national precedents; can welfare services be arranged providing for local conditions without, at the same time, affecting the rules by which other clients are served in other locations; can a ...

Demonstrating interactions of distribution network and local energy communities operating in hierarchically autonomous control architecture paradigm [PDF]
There are different expectations on how large integration of Local Energy Communities (LECs) would impact distribution network operations. There are, however, limited experiences from implemented LECs.

Towards Autonomic Communications
2007In this talk we provide an overview of our work on autonomic service management systems. The purpose of these systems is to ensure delivery of a multiplicity of network-based applications and content, according to service metrics and in the face of variable demand and equipment failure.

Autonomic Communications in Software-Driven Networks
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2017Autonomic communications aim to provide the quality-of-service in networks using self-management mechanisms. It inherits many characteristics from autonomic computing, in particular, when communication systems are running as specialized applications in software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV)-enabled cloud ...

ATP: A Microprotocol Approach to Autonomic Communication
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 2013As new transport protocols are being proposed and standardized, the choice of the best communication service to be used by applications for delivering their data when distributed is becoming too complex. Application developers need much knowledge on "how the protocol works" to decide whether or not it can be used to fulfill their requirements. Moreover,

1995
Since the middle of the nineteenth century there have been various attempts to establish some form of de-centralised state structure in Spain. Most have ended in failure. The so-called ‘sexenio revolucionario’, 1868–74, culminated in the short-lived First Republic which was profoundly influenced by the federalist ideas of the Catalan intellectual ...

Multi-mode Autonomous Communication Systems
2019 53rd Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers, 2019In this paper, we study the problem of designing resource allocation algorithms for communication systems equipped with multiple different communication hardwares. We consider a point-to-multipoint scenario, in which communication occurs between an access point and a series of agents.

Trust by Workflow in Autonomic Communication
2005Autonomic network elements cooperate for media and media signalling delivery; the paper demonstrates how these nodes can elaborate significant trust and achieve self-organisation by the exchange of blueprints of their internal packet processing workflows.

An autonomic communication framework for sensor networks
Proceedings of the 5th international conference on Embedded networked sensor systems, 2007A novel autonomic communication framework is proposed for two-tiered heterogeneous sensor networks. The framework consists of an autonomic data-link protocol, LADD, and a communication scheduler. Networks consist of both sensing nodes and more powerful relaying nodes.
