Transiting exoplanets from the CoRoT space mission VIII. CoRoT-7b: the first Super-Earth with measured radius [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We report the discovery of very shallow (DF/F = 3.4 10-4), periodic dips in the light curve of an active V = 11.7 G9V star observed by the CoRoT satellite, which we interpret as due to the presence of a transiting companion.

GCN2 upregulates autophagy in response to short-term deprivation of a single essential amino acid

open access: yesAutophagy Reports, 2022
The ability to adapt the proteolysis rates based on fluctuations in essential amino acid (EAA) availability is essential for life. The GCN2-eIF2α-ATF4 signaling pathway is involved in the adaptive response to EAA deprivations.

Association between annual twin delivery volume and severe postpartum hemorrhage in twin pregnancies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To assess the association between the risk of severe postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and the annual twin delivery volume of maternity units. Methods JUmeaux MODe d'Accouchement (JUMODA) was a national observational prospective population‐based cohort of twin deliveries in 176 French maternity units performing more than 1500 annual ...

Development and validation of a simplified method to quantify gaseous emissions from cattle buildings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Obtaining representative gaseous emission factors from livestock production requires measurement methods adapted to a high number and a great diversity of livestock systems, including naturally ventilated buildings.

Treewidth Versus Clique Number. V. Further Connections With Tree‐Independence Number

open access: yesJournal of Graph Theory, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We continue the study of ( tw , ω ) $({\mathsf{tw}},\omega )$‐bounded graph classes, that is, hereditary graph classes in which large treewidth is witnessed by the presence of a large clique, and the relation of this property to boundedness of the tree‐independence number, a graph parameter introduced independently by Yolov in 2018 and by ...

More frequencies of KUV 02464+3239

open access: yes, 2007
Preliminary results on KUV 02464+3239, a pulsating DA white dwarf are presented. Located near the red edge of the DAV instability strip, KUV 02464+3239 shows large amplitude and long period pulsation modes.

The role of trust in wildlife damage response systems: One step towards coexistence between livestock farming and large carnivores?

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Wildlife damage to livestock and crops is the primary cause of conflict and a major barrier to human–wildlife coexistence across Europe and beyond. Data on such damages play a key role in understanding and shaping these conflicts. Policy responses have emphasised prevention and compensation to support extensive husbandry practices; however ...

Re-assessing the radial-velocity evidence for planets around CoRoT-7

open access: yes, 2010
CoRoT-7 is an 11th magnitude K-star whose light curve shows transits with depth of 0.3 mmag and a period of 0.854 d, superimposed on variability at the 1% level, due to the modulation of evolving active regions with the star's 23 d rotation period.

Non-radial oscillations in the red giant HR7349 measured by CoRoT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Convection in red giant stars excites resonant acoustic waves whose frequencies depend on the sound speed inside the star, which in turn depends on the properties of the stellar interior.

Les territoires en déprise, espaces privilégiés de l’accueil d’exilés ? Une analyse des dynamiques du dispositif Asile et intégration dans la région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

open access: yesCybergeo
This article explores the geography of accommodation for asylum seekers in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (France), and examines the role of shrinking areas in hosting these individuals. It assesses the distribution of accommodations available to asylum
