Smart converters implemented into auxiliary converter of public transport vehicles

2015 International Conference on Electrical Drives and Power Electronics (EDPE), 2015
This paper describes smart converters and presents results from real industrial application. The auxiliary converters in public transport vehicles are very important part of vehicles. The auxiliary converters consist from three-phase, inverters, single-phase inverters, chargers, power supplies of several different voltages.

An auxiliary resonant soft switching matrix converter

2004 IEEE 35th Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37551), 2005
This paper is concerned with the design, construction and testing of a 3-phase to 3-phase soft switching matrix converter. Two auxiliary soft switching circuits are added to each output phase in order to achieve soft switching without significantly increasing the conduction losses.

Self-Commutated Auxiliary Circuit ZVT PWM Converters

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2004
This paper introduces a novel class of zero voltage transition (ZVT) DC/DC pulse-width modulation (PWM) converters that use a resonant inductance-capacitance (L-C) circuit connected to the auxiliary switch, which is termed a self-commutated auxiliary circuit.

Zero-Voltage Switching Multioutput Flyback Converter With Integrated Auxiliary Buck Converter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2014
This paper presents a new multioutput converter. It consists of a half-bridge inverter in primary side and a flyback rectifier that is integrated with an auxiliary buck converter in secondary side. The primary switches control the main output voltage and the secondary synchronous switches control the auxiliary output voltage. The main advantages of the

Auxiliary converter for variable inductor control in a DC-DC converter application

2016 51st International Universities Power Engineering Conference (UPEC), 2016
This paper presents a low-cost and a low power auxiliary DC-DC converter for regulating the inductance of main power inductor of power electronic converters. A Variable Inductor (VI) is a current controlled power inductor which can be used for improving the performance of power electronic converters.

ZCS PWM bidirectional converter with one auxiliary switch

2011 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2011
Dc-dc bidirectional converters transfer energy between two different dc sources. Soft switching in both directions of operation has been difficult in non-isolated bidirectional converters. To achieve soft switching in the main switches in such converters, usually two independent auxiliary circuits with multiple auxiliary switches are used.

Multi-level converter with auxiliary resonant-commutated pole

Conference Record of 1998 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Third IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.98CH36242), 2002
The family of multi-level power converters offers advantages for high-power, high-voltage systems. A multi-level nested-cell structure has the attractive feature of static and dynamic voltage sharing among the switches. This is achieved by using clamping capacitors (floating capacitors) rather than clamping diodes.

Novel dual auxiliary circuits for ZVT-PWM converters

Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2008
Novel active auxiliary circuits that allow the power switch in single-switch, pulse-width-modulated (PWM) converters to operate with zero-voltage switching (ZVS) are proposed in this paper. The main feature of these circuits is that the auxiliary switch can operate with a zero-current switching turn-on and turn-off without increasing the peak current ...

Simulation of auxiliary resonant commutated pole (ARCP) converter

IECEC-97 Proceedings of the Thirty-Second Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference (Cat. No.97CH6203), 2002
The auxiliary resonant commutated pole (ARCP) power converter was recently developed to essentially eliminate switching losses in high-power high-switching-rate power converters. Various converter topologies utilizing the ARCP technology are presently being developed for military shipboard and aircraft applications.

Multioutput Auxiliary Converter for Electric Locomotives

2002
In 1999 the production of a new multi-output auxiliary converter PJUT-2 started within the thyristorisation of the electric locomotives series 46 for the Bulgarian state railways. The PJUT-2 converter is responsible for transformation of single-phase line voltage (900 V, 50 Hz)into five three-phase outputs 3 x 400 V, 50 Hz as well as DC output 135 V ...
