Estimation of Mode Using Auxiliary Information

Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2014
In this article, we propose naive estimator, ratio estimator, and difference estimator of the mode of a study variable by using the known mode of an auxiliary variable. The asymptotic properties of the proposed estimators are studied analytically as well as empirically for different situations. The proper use of auxiliary information is found to result

Missing data and auxiliary information in surveys

Computational Statistics, 2004
The authors present estimation methods that use auxiliary information when some observations are missing from the sample. Applying the method of ratio, difference and regression estimating methods the authors propose an indirect estimate of total population on the basis of a random sample drawn according to certain sample design.

An EWMA mean chart with auxiliary information

Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2023
AbstractIn this paper, we show that a recently proposed auxiliary information‐based (AIB) adaptive EWMA (AE) chart is sensitive (not robust) to the changes in the mean of an auxiliary variable when monitoring the changes in the mean of a quality variable, called the AIB‐AE chart.

Multivariate Calibrations with Auxiliary Information

Statistica Sinica
Summary: We investigate multivariate calibrations from a modern perspective with a focus on incorporating auxiliary variables and handling complex data dependencies with random effects. By introducing auxiliary variables, the roles of the variables in multivariate calibration problems are no longer restricted to being either response or explanatory ...

Compressing Encrypted Images With Auxiliary Information

IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, 2014
This paper proposes a novel scheme of compressing encrypted images with auxiliary information. The content owner encrypts the original uncompressed images and also generates some auxiliary information, which will be used for data compression and image reconstruction.

Bootstrapping with auxiliary information

Canadian Journal of Statistics, 1999
AbstractIn the nonparametric setting, the standard bootstrap method is based on the empirical distribution function of a random sample. The author proposes, by means of the empirical likelihood technique, an alternative bootstrap procedure under a nonparametric model in which one has some auxiliary information about the population distribution.

An Efficient Transfer Learning Method with Auxiliary Information

ACM Transactions on Knowledge Discovery from Data, 2023
Transfer learning (TL) is an information reuse learning tool, which can help us learn better classification effect than traditional single task learning, because transfer learning can share information within the task-to-task model. Most TL algorithms are studied in the field of data improvement, doing some data extraction and transformation.

Distributed eQTL analysis with auxiliary information

Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference
Expression quantitative trait locus (eQTL) analysis is a useful tool to identify genetic loci that are associated with gene expression levels. Large collaborative efforts such as the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) project provide valuable resources for eQTL analysis in different tissues.

Markov sampling with auxiliary information

Statistical Papers, 1992
In this paper a new class of sampling design, with a markovian behaviour, which use both auxiliary and label information for estimating the total of a finite population, is proposed. The performance of these schemes is numerically compared with Midzuno, Rejective and PPS systematic sampling schemes for populations exhibiting exponential trend.
