Auxiliary variables for deformable models [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision, 2002
We present a mathematical formulation for curve and surface reconstruction algorithms by introduction of auxiliary variables. For deformable models and templates, two step iterative algorithms have been often used where, at each iteration, the model is first locally deformed according to the potential data attraction and then globally smoothed. We show

A General Model of Auxiliary Processes in Manufacturing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
In all sizes of manufacturing enterprises, daily shop-floor activities include a number of tasks not directly related to the main production flow. These complementary activities concern, among others, recycling of used material, productive resource maintenance.

Auxiliary Template-Enhanced Generative Compatibility Modeling [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Twenty-Ninth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2020
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the fashion analysis (e.g., clothing matching) due to the huge economic value of the fashion industry. The essential problem is to model the compatibility between the complementary fashion items, such as the top and bottom in clothing matching.

Multi-source optimal dispatch considering ancillary service cost of pumped storage power station based on cooperative game

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2021
In order to give full attention to the auxiliary service capacity of the pumped storage power station, a multi-power optimal dispatch model considering the auxiliary service cost of the pumped storage power station was established, and the efficient ...

Auxiliary potential in no-core shell-model calculations [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 1995
The Lee-Suzuki iteration method is used to include the folded diagrams in the calculation of the two-body effective interaction $v^{(2)}_{\rm eff}$ between two nucleons in a no-core model space. This effective interaction still depends upon the choice of single-particle basis utilized in the shell-model calculation.

Auxiliary Objectives for Neural Error Detection Models [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 12th Workshop on Innovative Use of NLP for Building Educational Applications, 2017
We investigate the utility of different auxiliary objectives and training strategies within a neural sequence labeling approach to error detection in learner writing. Auxiliary costs provide the model with additional linguistic information, allowing it to learn general-purpose compositional features that can then be exploited for other objectives.

Model-Assisted Estimators with Auxiliary Functional Data

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Research, 2022
Summary: Few studies focus on the application of functional data to the field of design-based survey sampling. In this paper, the scalar-on-function regression model-assisted method is proposed to estimate the finite population means with auxiliary functional data information.

Smooth and Probabilistic PARAFAC Model with Auxiliary Covariates

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Graphical Statistics, 2023
In immunological and clinical studies, matrix-valued time-series data clustering is increasingly popular. Researchers are interested in finding low-dimensional embedding of subjects based on potentially high-dimensional longitudinal features and investigating relationships between static clinical covariates and the embedding.

Coupled Least Squares Identification Algorithms for Multivariate Output-Error Systems

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2017
This paper focuses on the recursive identification problems for a multivariate output-error system. By decomposing the system into several subsystems and by forming a coupled relationship between the parameter estimation vectors of the subsystems, two ...

Gradient estimation algorithms for the parameter identification of bilinear systems using the auxiliary model

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2020
For the bilinear system with white noise, the difficulty of identification is that there exists the product term of the state and input in the system. To overcome this difficulty, we derive the input–output representation of a class of special bilinear ...
