Application of Order Statistics of Auxiliary Variable to Estimation the Population Mean
Estimation of the population average in a finite population by means of sampling strategies dependent on an auxiliary variable highly correlated with a variable under study is considered.

The Auxiliary Variable Trick for deriving Kalman Smoothers [PDF]
We present a Forward-Backward Kalman smoother derivation that functions for small observation noise. Whilst this smoother can be found by judicious transformation of the standard Forward-Backward equations, we introduce an auxiliary variable trick which ...

CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Almost Unbiased Ratio Estimator Using the Coefficient of variation of unknown auxiliary variable
Sisodia el at (1981) proposed a modified ratio estimator of population mean when the information on theauxiliary is known. This estimator is biased but with less mean square error compared to the classical ratioestimator.

Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Sampling Designs Proportionate to Non-negative Functions of two Quantiles of Auxiliary Variable
Estimation of the population average in a finite population by means of sampling strategies dependent on sample quantiles of an auxiliary variable are considered. The sampling design proportional to an order statistic of an auxiliary variable was defined

We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...
