NtWRKY-R1, a Novel Transcription Factor, Integrates IAA and JA Signal Pathway under Topping Damage Stress in Nicotiana tabacum

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
Topping damage can induce the nicotine synthesis in tobacco roots, which involves the activation of JA and auxin signal transduction. It remains unclear how these hormone signals are integrated to regulate nicotine synthesis.

Arabidopsis Type II Phosphatidylinositol 4-Kinase PI4Kγ5 Regulates Auxin Biosynthesis and Leaf Margin Development through Interacting with Membrane-Bound Transcription Factor ANAC078. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2016
Normal leaf margin development is important for leaf morphogenesis and contributes to diverse leaf shapes in higher plants. We here show the crucial roles of an atypical type II phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase, PI4Kγ5, in Arabidopsis leaf margin ...

New Insights Into the Local Auxin Biosynthesis and Its Effects on the Rapid Growth of Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis)

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Auxin plays a crucial regulatory role in higher plants, but systematic studies on the location of auxin local biosynthesis are rare in bamboo and other graminaceous plants.

Auxin and nitric oxide control indeterminate nodule formation

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2007
Background Rhizobia symbionts elicit root nodule formation in leguminous plants. Nodule development requires local accumulation of auxin. Both plants and rhizobia synthesise auxin.

RIBOSE PHOSPHATE ISOMERSASE 1 Influences Root Development by Acting on Cell Wall Biosynthesis, Actin Organization, and Auxin Transport in Arabidopsis

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Cell wall biosynthesis plays essential roles in cell division and expansion and thus is fundamental to plant growth and development. In this work, we show that an Arabidopsis mutant dpr3, isolated by a forward genetic screen, displays embryo defects and ...

Lupeol Accumulation Correlates with Auxin in the Epidermis of Castor

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Lupeol, a natural lupane-type pentacyclic triterpene, possesses various pharmacological properties, and its production attracts attention. Significant quantities of lupeol are deposited on the castor aerial organ surface and are easily extractable as a ...

Induction and superinduction of auxin-responsive mRNAs with auxin and protein synthesis inhibitors.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1990
We have identified a class of small mRNAs (approximately 0.5 kilobases), referred to as small auxin-up RNAs (SAURs), that increases in abundance within minutes after auxin application to excised elongating hypocotyl sections of soybean. In this study, we present evidence that SAURs accumulate in the absence of auxin when protein synthesis is inhibited.

The effect of NGATHA altered activity in auxin signaling pathways within the Arabidopsis gynoecium

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2014
The four NGATHA genes (NGA) form a small subfamily within the large family of B3-domain transcription factors of Arabidopsis thaliana. NGA genes act redundantly to direct the development of the apical tissues of the gynoecium, the style and the stigma ...

Root System Patterning: Auxin Synthesis at the Root Periphery [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Biology, 2015
Plasticity in plant form is achieved through differential elaboration of developmental pre-patterns during postembryonic organ development. A new report links the output of the root clock, an oscillatory transcriptional pre-patterning mechanism, with cell-type-specific production of the plant hormone auxin, and identifies a downstream component ...

Azido Auxins: Synthesis and Biological Activity of Fluorescent Photoaffinity Labeling Agents [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1981
Three auxin analogs, 4-, 5-, and 6-azido-3-indoleacetic acid (4-N(3)-IAA, 5-N(3)-IAA, and 6-N(3)-IAA) have been synthesized for use as fluorescent photoaffinity labeling agents. The pK(a) values of these compounds (4-N(3)-IAA, 4.67; 5-N(3)-IAA, 4.65; 6-N(3)-IAA, 4.66; all +/- 0.04) are experimentally indistinguishable from the pK(a) of 3-indoleacetic ...
