Dynamics of Size and Shape Variation During Embryonic Development in the Balkan Crested Newt

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part B: Molecular and Developmental Evolution, EarlyView.
Morphological variance in Triturus ivanbureschi embryos fluctuates during the tailbud phase, coinciding with developmental arrest caused by the balanced lethal system. Prehatching embryos show uniform variance. Our study reveals dynamics of morphological variability during early development and provides a baseline for further studies.

Dynamic Performance Enhancement of a High‐Agility Hypersonic Mechanical System via a Learning‐Augmented Robust Control Architecture

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The design of control systems for high‐agility mechanical systems operating in extreme environments is a significant challenge in nonlinear dynamics. This paper addresses the complex dynamic control problem of a hypersonic interceptor, modeled as a multi‐input multi‐output (MIMO) mechanical system characterized by strong aerodynamic cross ...

Integrating Grain to Ground Motion Data for Critical Rock Bridge and Slope Failure Analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rock masses can fail catastrophically with little warning, yet their stability depends on hidden internal connections that channel forces and localise damage. Among these, rock bridges–a “known unknown” in slope mechanics–lock fractured rock and control how failure unfolds, but their concealed geometry and uncertain strength obscure where and ...

Fault‐Tolerant Mutual‐Visibility: Complexity and Solutions for Grid‐Like Networks

open access: yesNetworks, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Networks are often modeled using graphs, and within this setting we introduce the notion of k$$ k $$‐fault‐tolerant mutual visibility. Informally, a set of vertices X⊆V(G)$$ X\subseteq V(G) $$ in a graph G$$ G $$ is a k$$ k $$‐fault‐tolerant mutual‐visibility set (k$$ k $$‐ftmv set) if any two non‐adjacent vertices in X$$ X $$ are connected by
