POI VizNet: New QGIS Tool to construct Visibility Networks in Cities [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Network science and graph theory offer attractive models to describe urban phenomena and examine cases of urban planning and design. However, none of the existing network analysis tools consider simultaneously human visual perception and locations of ...

Synergistic Regulation of Deep‐Cycling‐Induced Zn Pulverization and Resting Galvanic Corrosion in Practical Lean Zinc Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Benzotriazole (BTA) regulates Zn reduction kinetics and suppresses galvanic corrosion, simultaneously mitigating Zn pulverization during cycling and self‐corrosion during storage, thereby enabling lean Zn anodes with enhanced cycling stability and extended calendar life.

Assessment of Highway Available Sight Distances Under Disability Glare Using a Field‐of‐View Model and Traffic‐Signboard Recognition

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems
ABSTRACT Assessing available sight distances (ASDs) affected by disability glare on highways is essential for establishing a relationship among ASDs, sun ray variations, roadside occlusions, and the driver's field‐of‐view. This study proposes a novel disability‐glare‐coupled ASD (DG‐ASD) assessment method for two‐lane highways.

Cross‐scale Material‐Structure Synergy for 2D Metamaterials: Toward Customizable Intelligent Electromagnetic Manipulation in Multiphysics Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Recent advances in metasurface‐enabled low‐observable technologies are reviewed from the perspective of cross‐scale material–structure synergy. Electromagnetic, thermal, optical, and acoustic stealth are highlighted together with dynamic tuning, programmable coding, data‐driven inverse design, artificial intelligence, multispectral compatibility, and ...

Plant Metabolites Screening Identifies 7‐epi‐10‐Deacetyltaxol Inhibiting Cell Division by Interfering With the Cell Cycle and Microtubule Organization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, an efficient screening system is developed for plant metabolites to find a compound, 7‐epi‐10‐deacetyltaxol, inhibits tissue elongation. It suppresses plant growth through brassinosteroid and microtubule pathways. It is later applied to animal cells and human tumor organoids, resulting in similar cell division suppression. These findings

Do We Have Sufficient Knowledge of the Galactic Foreground Emission in Cosmic Microwave Background Science?

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Galactic foreground emission plays a key role in cosmic microwave background (CMB) science, particularly for detecting primordial gravitational waves. A well-known lesson involves the “dust wave” identified by BICEP2 in 2014, which was ruled out through ...

Experiments on Nonlocal Fluid‐Flow Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nonlocal fluid‐flow metamaterial composed of standard microfluidic tubes and connectors is designed. Hence, the current of the system at one position depends on the gradient of fluid flow at many other positions, leading to unusual alternating backward and forward laminar flows of water.

Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.

Chemical Switching Between B2N and B2C Homoaromaticity

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We report the synthesis of homoaromatic 1‐aza‐2,4‐diazadiboretane with a bicyclic four‐membered NB2C motif and demonstrate experimentally and theoretically that the homoaromatic delocalization can also be chemically shifted from the B2N to the B2C moiety by deprotonation of the ring carbon atom.
