Bilateral Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Heads
JOSPT Cases, 2022A 34-year-old woman was referred to physical therapy for severe, progressive bilateral hip pain. Due to minimal improvement after six physical therapy sessions and a history of chronic alcoholism, the patient was referred back to her physician for imaging.

Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head
1985In Legg-Calve-Perthes’ disease, the femoral head always becomes revascularized. The problem consists in preserving its shape and in avoiding its collapse. It seems sensible to contain as much as possible of the “head at risk” in a mould, the acetabulum, and to reduce the pressure exerted on this head.

Aseptic (Avascular) Necrosis of the Femoral Head in Psoriasis
Southern Medical Journal, 1979Aseptic (avascular) necrosis of the femoral head associated with psoriasis is reported. The clinical histories of nine patients with avascular necrosis of the femoral head and one patient with bilateral humeral head osteonecrosis are summarized. Psoriasis was the only associated condition found in three of the patients.
