Three morphological mutants in Avena strigosa
Canadian Journal of Botany, 1968Three morphological mutants in Avena strigosa, produced by treatment with X-rays, are described. Inheritance studies indicated that the mutant characters cluster panicle (pt-5), floretless (fl), and multiglume (mg) result from single gene mutations. Genes fl and mg were inherited independently.

2015Presented are the significant morphological features of small oat (Avena strigosa Schreb.) that should enable proper distinguishing this species from other oats. The morphological observations were based on herbarial material collected in north-eastern Poland.
