Investigations of barley stripe mosaic virus as a gene silencing vector in barley roots and in Brachypodium distachyon and oat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background Gene silencing vectors based on Barley stripe mosaic virus (BSMV) are used extensively in cereals to study gene function, but nearly all studies have been limited to genes expressed in leaves of barley and wheat.

Holocene Land‐Use and Climate Forcing of Ombrotrophic Peatland Dynamics in Northwest Estonia

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, Volume 130, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract We present a high‐resolution, multi‐proxy record from Mustjärve bog, northwest Estonia, covering the past ∼2,500 years. By integrating paleoecological, historical, and climate data, we evaluate how climate and land use shaped peatland hydrology, vegetation, and carbon dynamics.

Avena Strigosa Schreb - Svarthavre : En bortglömd art eller framtidens produkt? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018

STRIAFACIENS

open access: yesArquivos do Instituto Biológico, 1997

Regenerative soil treatments with alginite, mulch, and cover crops under minimum tillage: Impacts on soil organic matter content and quality in a 3‐year study

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 117, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
Abstract The degradation of arable land globally, largely due to declining soil organic matter (SOM), is a pressing issue. SOM is essential for various soil functions and significantly influences soil quality and health. Our study aimed to compare soil regenerative management methods for soil quality and basic essential functions and their ...

Carbon and nitrogen release from cover crop roots is poorly predicted by their chemical composition

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 117, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
Abstract Root‐derived carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) release in relation to chemical composition has rarely been quantified in field studies. The objectives of this study were to evaluate C and N release from six summer cover crop roots and to correlate it with their chemical composition. Root decomposition and N release from velvet bean (Mucuna aterrima),
