The average density of the Universe and the Regge law

We calculate the principal inertia moments of a three-dimensional mass distribution rotating with angular velocity ω in a self-gravitating homogeneous field with axial symmetry. We show that the angular momentumJ may, under certain conditions, be of the Regge-like type. These results are used to evaluate the mass and average density of the Universe.

A monitor of chord-averaged plasma density

A single-channel two-frequency chord-averaged density monitor for measuring the plasma density in tokamaks is described. The operating principle of the monitor is based on measuring the phase shift between two microwave signals at close frequencies transmitted through plasma along one and the same chord.

Estimation of the Average Density of a Nonuniform Poisson Process

The average density \lambda (t) of a Poisson process is estimated by a nonstationary shot noise process s(t) . The process s(t) is generated by a time-varying system whose impulse response h (t, \alpha) is so determined as to minimize the mean-square (ms) estimation error.

This is compared with the work of Philip, who determined from f using a foliage angle density function g and an approximate Fourier analysis.
