69 W Average Power Yb:YAG Laser
Advanced Solid State Lasers, 1996We report what is to our knowledge the highest quasi-cw output power to date, 150 W, with average output power of 69 W and pulse energy of 250 mJ, for an InGaAs diode-pumped Yb:YAG laser. This performance was obtained by use of a laser head designed to be part of a master oscillator power amplifier operating at 3 kW.

Average power estimation under nonsinusoidal conditions
IMTC/99. Proceedings of the 16th IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (Cat. No.99CH36309), 2000The authors address the problem of estimating the average power of electrical systems under nonsinusoidal conditions. Firstly, a time-domain based algorithm is proposed, which smooths sampled data using suitable coefficients, prior to their numerical integration.

High average power active-mirror amplifier
Applied Optics, 1986We report operation of the first high average power Nd:glass active-mirror amplifier, a scalable laser device that may be used to configure solid-state laser systems with high average power output into the kilowatt regime. An extractable average power of over 120 W was achieved at the device laser material fracture limit and at a repetition rate of 5 ...

Average Power and Power Exchange in Oscillators
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1969Integral and algebraic equations for the computation of average kinetic, potential, and dissipative energies in systems of randomly excited coupled oscillators are developed. The latter equations are equivalent to those that appear in the study of the Lyapounov stability of linear dynamical systems.

Peak-to-average power ratio versus instantaneous-to-average power ratio for OFDM
2008 42nd Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2008In the literature, peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) is often used as an indicator for the dynamic range of OFDM signals. PAR is an extreme value statistic and can present an overly pessimistic view of the signal. Instantaneous-to-average power ratio (IAR), on the other hand, reflects more accurately the characteristics of the sample population.

Averaging for Power Converters
2012Switched systems provide a tempting modelling framework for power electronics converters. At a certain level of abstraction, switched models are able to capture some interesting properties of the converters behaviour while ignoring irrelevant details.

We introduce the power average to provide an aggregation operator which allows argument values to support each other in the aggregation process. The properties of this operator are described. We discuss the idea of a power median. We introduce some possible formulations for the support function used in the power average.

High average power frequency doubling
Proceedings of LEOS '93, 2002High average power second harmonic generation in crystals with finite absorption at the fundamental or harmonic wavelength creates unique problems. In addition to generating significant OPD which degrades the beam quality, heating of the crystal creates conditions which can be inherently temporally unstable.
