The np Chart with Guaranteed In‐control Average Run Lengths [PDF]
We evaluate the in‐control performance of the np‐control chart with estimated parameter conditional on the Phase I sample. We then apply the bootstrap method to adjust the control chart limits to guarantee the desired in‐control average run length (ARL0) value in the monitoring stage.

Average Run Length and Mean Delay for Changepoint Detection: Robust Estimates for Threshold Alarms [PDF]
Online Monitoring is a rapidly expanding field in different areas such as quality control, finance and navigation. The automated detection of so-called changepoints is playing a prominent role in all these fields, be it the detection of sudden shifts of ...

Monitoring Reliability for Three-Parameter Frechet Distribution Using Control Charts
Control Charts for attributes have been widely adopted for examining the fraction non-conforming or non-conformities in a process. However, Shewhart control charts may face some practical problems when the process fraction of non-conformities is very low.

Designing of control chart of extended EWMA statistic using repetitive sampling scheme
In this paper, we propose extended exponential weighted moving average (EEWMA) control chart (CC) for the surveillance the process mean using repetitive sampling scheme under the assumption that quality characteristic of a product is a quantitative ...

Tuning ensemble-averaged cargo run length via fractional change in mean kinesin number [PDF]
Abstract The number of motors carrying cargos in biological cells is not well-defined, instead varying from cargo to cargo about a statistical mean. Predictive understanding of motility in cells therefore requires quantitative insights into mixed ensembles of cargos.

Standard Deviation of the Run Length (SDRL) and Average Run Length (ARL) Performances of EWMA and Synthetic Charts [PDF]
Statistical process control (SPC) techniques are applied to monitor a process. The control chart is a valuable tool in SPC. the shewhart control chart was the first chart proposed in the literature of SPC and it is still used in process monitoring in today's manufacturing and service industries. both the exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) and

A New HWMA Dispersion Control Chart with an Application to Wind Farm Data
Recently, a homogeneously weighted moving average (HWMA) chart has been suggested for the efficient detection of small shifts in the process mean. In this study, we have proposed a new one-sided HWMA chart to effectively detect small changes in the ...

Average-case analysis of perfect sorting by reversals (Journal Version) [PDF]
Perfect sorting by reversals, a problem originating in computational genomics, is the process of sorting a signed permutation to either the identity or to the reversed identity permutation, by a sequence of reversals that do not break any common interval.
