Intestinal obstruction (IO) is an important but underexplored complication following simultaneous pancreas‐kidney transplantation (SPKT) and is associated with considerable morbidity and both clinical and economic burdens. In this single‐center cohort study, perioperative parameters, including demographic characteristics, surgical variables, and ...

Development and characterization of a nucleic acid probe for avian reoviruses
A radiolabelled probe (S4-18), corresponding to 542 base pairs of the S4 genome segment of avian reovirus (ARV), was used in dot blot hybridization assays. The lowest limit of purified viral RNA detected was similar among three ARV strains and was 0.2 ng.

A Review on Heat Stress in Broiler Chickens: Mechanisms, Effects and Mitigation Strategies
Heat stress caused by high temperature and humidity compromises broiler health, welfare, and productivity by reducing feed intake, growth performance, and feed efficiency, while increasing mortality, oxidative stress, metabolic disturbances, intestinal dysfunction, gut dysbiosis, immune suppression, and meat quality deterioration.

Bird extinctions shift bill–flower trait matching in Hawaiian lobelioids
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Species extinctions can reorganize ecological interactions by altering the distribution of functional traits within communities. These traits structure how species interact, influencing whether encounters result in mutualistic or antagonistic outcomes.

A 4D geometric morphometrics workflow to quantify complex biological motion
Abstract Quantifying biological motion is fundamentally tied to quantifying the biological structures that produce that motion. Yet, this dependence makes it essential to decouple motion from static morphology to enable general, comparable analyses across individuals and conditions. In this work, we present a methodological pipeline to study biological

Antiviral Effect of Different Essential Oils on Avian Coronavirus
Plant essential oils (EOs) possess established antimicrobial properties; however, research on their antiviral activity, particularly against avian coronaviruses, remains limited. EOs offer a promising plant-based alternative for viral control, especially
