Iridoids from Avicennia marina
Abstract Three new iridoid glucosides, 10-O-[(E)-cinnamoyl]-geniposidic acid, 10-O-[(E)-p-coumaroyl]- geniposidic acid, 10-O-[(E)-caffeoyl]-geniposidic acid and the known iridoid glucoside, 2′-O-[(E)-cinnamoyl]-mussaenosidic acid have been isolated from Avicennia marina. The structures were determined primarily by NMR spectroscopy.

A novel endophytic actinomycete, designated strain BSK3Z-2 T, was isolated from a surface-sterilised branch of Avicennia mariana from Shankou Mangrove Nature Reserve, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. Cells were observed to be Gram-stain positive, aerobic, asporogenous and rod-shaped. Strain BSK3Z-2 T was found to grow optimally at 30 °C, pH 7.0

Jiella avicenniae sp. nov., a novel endophytic bacterium isolated from bark of Avicennia marina
Archives of Microbiology, 2022A Gram-stain-negative and short rod-shaped strain CBK1P-4T, isolated from surface-sterilized bark of Avicennia marina was investigated by a polyphasic taxonomic approach to resolve its taxonomic position. Strain CBK1P-4T grew at 10-30 °C (optimum, 25 °C), pH 5.0-9.0 (optimum, pH 5.5) and in the presence of 0-9% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 1-2%).

Micromonospora avicenniae sp. nov., isolated from a root of Avicennia marina
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 2013Strain 268506(T) was isolated from a root of Avicennia marina collected at mangrove forest in Wengchang, Hainan province, China. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain 268506(T) showed the highest similarity with Micromonospora equina Y22(T) (98.8 %) and Micromonospora olivasterospora DSM 43868(T) (98.7 %). In addition, gyrB gene phylogeny clearly showed

Iridoid glucosides from Avicennia germinans
Phytochemistry, 1995Abstract A new iridoid glucoside, namely 2′-caffeoyl mussaenosidic acid has been isolated from leaves of Avicennia germinans along with the known compounds 2′-cinnamoyl mussaenosidic acid and verbascoside. The structure of the new compound was established by spectroscopic methods.

New flavonoids from Avicennia marina
Fitoterapia, 2000In addition to luteolin 7-O-methylether, chrysoeriol 7-O-glucoside and isorhamnetin 3-O-rutinoside, the methanol extract of the aerial parts of Avicennia marina yielded two new flavonoids identified as luteolin 7-O-methylether 3'-O-beta-D-glucoside and its galactoside analogue 2.
