Neuropathic Calcaneal Tuberosity Avulsion Fractures
Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1993Avulsion of a calcaneal tuberosity can be the initial presentation of a neuropathic fracture. Neuropathic fracture should be investigated in patients who appear without a history of significant indirect or direct trauma. Neuropathic fractures should always be considered in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Avulsion fractures of the scapula
Skeletal Radiology, 1982Fractures of the scapula due to direct violence are relatively common. Wilber and Evans [18] reported 40 scapular fractures and reviewed the literature. All those injured had received direct trauma to the shoulder and they were able to divide their cases into two groups, based on anatomical location and functional results.

Acute tibial tubercle avulsion fractures
Orthopedic Clinics of North America, 2003Acute tibial tubercle avulsion fractures are uncommon, and these injuries typically occur in mature-appearing adolescent boys involved in jumping sports, particularly basketball. The developmental anatomy of the tibial tuberosity and the changes surrounding normal physiologic epiphysiodesis render this structure susceptible to acute avulsion fractures.

Acute Tibial Tubercle Avulsion Fractures
Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 2004A retrospective analysis of 18 patients with 19 acute tibial tubercle avulsion fractures was performed. Mean age at injury was 13 years 8 months. Mean follow-up time was 2 years 8 months. A group of four preadolescent patients ages 9 to 12 years at injury was identified. Participation in athletics, particularly basketball, resulted in 77% of fractures.

Ankle Fractures, Including Avulsion Fractures
2014The incidence of fractures is small and less than 3 % of all ankle injuries in modern professional football. Optimum management for the higher-level football player has to address the demand for early and safe return to a high level of activity. Sport-specific evidence for best practice is limited.

AVULSION FRACTURES OF THE CALCANEUS
The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 19691. The literature on fractures of the postero-superior aspect of the calcaneus is reviewed. 2. The mechanical distinction between "beak" fractures and avulsion fractures is questioned, and the dangers of a purely radiological diagnosis are stressed. 3. When a complete avulsion is suspected on clinical grounds, open reduction should be done.
