Axial Compression Ratio Limit of L-Shaped Reinforced Concrete Columns with Different Limb Lengths

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Axial compression ratios of L-shaped columns with different directions of neutral axis were calculated by numerical method. It can be found that the axial compression ratio reaches the minimum value when neutral axis is parallel to the section edge and the shorter limb is compressed, the section scale has little influence on the axial compression ratio

Ductility design of reinforced concrete shear walls with the consideration of axial compression ratio

HKIE Transactions, 2015
To evaluate and quantify the effect of the axial compression ratio on the seismic performance of reinforced concrete walls, a comprehensive statistical analysis with 474 sets of experimental data was conducted. Stipulated limits on the axial compression ratio and their evaluation methods in various design codes were analysed and compared.

Jet Dynamics of Co-Axial Dual Compressible Jets for Different Exit Velocity Ratios

International Review of Mechanical Engineering (IREME), 2014
The flow characteristics of jets emerging from a dual co-axial nozzle are investigated using Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes calculations. The development of double shear layer from a dual compressible jet is compared with three exit velocity ratios, keeping a constant value for core exit velocity.

Effect of axial compression ratio on dynamic mechanical properties of RC beam–column joints

Magazine of Concrete Research, 2014
The dynamic mechanical properties of 15 interior beam–column joint specimens subjected to various axial compression ratios are studied. Failure patterns of beam–column joints and development of cracks are predicted by a softened strut-and-tie model and binomial logistic regression model.

Seismic performance of CFRP-confined circular high-strength concrete columns with high axial compression ratio

Construction and Building Materials, 2017
Abstract This paper presents an experimental investigation on the seismic performance of circular high-strength concrete (HSC) columns confined with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites. A total of eleven 1/2 scale columns were constructed of which nine were confined with CFRP wraps at potential plastic hinge regions.
