Axial compression tests on CFRP strengthened CFS plain angle short columns
AbstractA comprehensive test program was performed to experimentally investigate the effect of CFRP strengthening on the axial strength and stability of CFS plain angle short columns subjected to monotonic axial compression. A total of 28 specimens were tested by varying the CFRP strengthening configurations for different column heights.

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Repeated axial compressive performance of GCFST columns: Test investigation and numerical analysis
Geopolymer concrete (GC) is green and environmentally friendly. In order to comprehensively study the mechanical properties and influence mechanism of geopolymer concrete-filled steel tubular (GCFST) columns under various working conditions, this study takes the strength grade of geopolymer concrete, length-diameter ratio and wall thickness of steel ...

Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Axial Double-Ball Test Versus the Uniaxial Unconfined Compression Test for Measuring the Compressive Strength of Freshwater and Sea Ice [PDF]
Abstract : Axial double-ball load tests were made on freshwater ice and first- year and multiyear sea ice. From this simple test method the apparent unconfined compressive strength of the ice was determined. These strength results were compared with those obtained from the complex and costly uniaxial unconfined compression test made on similar ice at a

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.
