Development of Inlet for an Axial Compressor [PDF]

open access: yesASME 1968 Gas Turbine Conference and Products Show, 1968
In development of an axial-flow boiler supercharger, a test program on the compressor inlet was carried out. Tests were run using a test compressor aerodynamically identical to the first three stages of the supercharger compressor. Prototype compressor inlet was compared to an axial inlet, and also to several modified inlets.

Stage-by-Stage and Parallel Flow Path Compressor Modeling for a Variable Cycle Engine [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper covers the development of stage-by-stage and parallel flow path compressor modeling approaches for a Variable Cycle Engine. The stage-by-stage compressor modeling approach is an extension of a technique for lumped volume dynamics and ...

Gas turbine engine fuel control [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
A variable orifice system is described that is responsive to compressor inlet pressure and temperature, compressor discharge pressure and rotational speed of a gas-turbine engine.

3D Bioprinting of Thick Adipose Tissues with Integrated Vascular Hierarchies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
An advanced 3D bioprinting technique is used here to create thick adipose tissues with a central, vessel and extensive branching. The construct is made using alginate, gelatin and collagen‐based bioinks. Flow through the complex vessel network is demonstrated as well as its successful integration with a femoral artery following implantation in a rat ...

UNSTEADY STALL OF AXIAL FLOW COMPRESSORS [PDF]

open access: yes, 1963
Abstract : Experimental study of the separation of a laminar boundary layer from walls moving upstream and downstream in a steady flow using a shrouded rotating cylinder in a wind tunnel was continued. Boundary layer velocity profiles were obtained over approximately half the range of angular positions on the cylinder which appear to be necessary in ...

Joule‐Assisted Nanotherapeutic Urethral Stent (JANUS) for Spatiotemporal Theragenerative Treatment of Urethral Strictures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Joule‐assisted nanotherapeutic urethral stent harnesses a smart, biodegradable magnesium stent to orchestrate spatiotemporal theragenerative therapy for urethral strictures. Magnetically induced Joule heating enables on‐demand drug release and bacterial ablation, while simultaneously guiding urothelial regeneration.

Effect of casing treatment on performance of an inlet stage for a transonic multistage compressor [PDF]

open access: yes
An inlet stage of a transonic compressor was tested with three rotor tip casing treatment configurations: blade angle slots, circumferential grooves, and axial skewed slots.

In‐Situ Growth of 2D MOFs as a Molecular Sieving Layer on SnS2 Nanoflakes for Realizing Ultraselective H2S Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The ultraselective H2S detection of the ZIF‐L/SnS2 heterostructure is demonstrated. The introduction of 2‐dimensional (2D) breathable ZIF‐L results in a substantial increase in H2S selectivity attributable to the molecular sieving effect, which impedes the permeation of gases with large kinetic diameters and high polarity.
