Rotor resonances of high-speed permanent-magnet brushless machines [PDF]
For high-speed machines, in particular, it is very important to accurately predict natural frequencies of the rotor at the design stage so as to minimize the likelihood of failure.

ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Experimental determination of the multi-axial strain transfer from CFRP-laminates to embedded Bragg sensor [PDF]
When embedded, optical fibre Bragg gratings are considered to be very valuable in terms of strain measurements of large composite structures for a number of reasons (safety rules, design criteria…).

From Taylor cone to solid nanofiber in tri-axial electrospinning: Size relationships
In multifluid electrospinning, the prediction of nanofiber’s diameter through experimental parameters is very difficult. However, there is always only one Taylor cone regardless of the simultaneous treated fluid number.

Helical Packings and Phase Transformations of Soft Spheres in Cylinders [PDF]
The phase behavior of helical packings of thermoresponsive microspheres inside glass capillaries is studied as a function of volume fraction. Stable packings with long-range orientational order appear to evolve abruptly to disordered states as particle ...

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.

Benefits of the multiplanar and volumetric analyses of pancreatic cancer using computed tomography.
Although pancreatic cancer tumors are irregularly shaped in terms of their three-dimensional (3D) structure, when T staging by imaging results, generally only the axial plane is used to measure the largest tumor diameter.
