Axial Fan Blade Vibration Assessment under Inlet Cross-Flow Conditions Using Laser Scanning Vibrometry

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
In thermal power plants equipped with air-cooled condensers (ACCs), axial cooling fans operate under the influence of ambient flow fields. Under inlet cross-flow conditions, the resultant asymmetric flow field is known to introduce additional harmonic ...

Effect of axial spacing on rotating stall performance of FBCDZ-10-No20 contra-rotating fan

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu, 2023
Mining contra-rotating fan are prone to rotational stall when it operates at low flow rates, which seriously affects the operational stability. The unsteady flow in the full flow passage of a FBCDZ-10-No20 contra-rotating fan at five axial spacings was ...

Operation Monitoring of Axial Flow Fans Based on Physics-Guided Support Vector Regression and Alarm Delay Timers

open access: yesMachines
Axial flow fans play a critical role in the safety and efficiency of industrial processes. This paper proposes an operation monitoring approach for axial flow fans based on physics-guided support vector regression and alarm delay timer.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Numerical investigation of differential speed operation of two impellers of contra-rotating axial-flow fan

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
A contra-rotating axial-flow fan is prone to stalling and motor overload at partial flow rates. Moreover, its efficiency decreases sharply at a high flow rate, which is accompanied by disparity between the shaft powers of the two impellers and the light ...

A novel approach for the design of axial flow fan by increasing by-pass ratio in a constant-diameter turbofan

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research, 2020
The present study introduces an innovative aerodynamic redesign of an axial flow fan based on constant diffusion factor and radial equilibrium. All input design parameters such as mass flow rate, hub to tip ratio, aspect ratio, tip diameter and angular ...

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Influence of axial spacing on stall development of FBCDZ-10-No20 mode contra-rotating fan

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu, 2023
The rotating fan is prone to instability such as stall and even surge when operating at low flow rates. In order to study the influence of axial spacings on the stall inception and its development and propagation process of a contra-rotating fan , a ...

Heterotropic regulation and negative homotropic cooperativity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We identified a structural module common to some proteins that couple negative cooperativity with heterotropic regulation, two features that rarely coexist. These proteins are ring‐like and present an ordered asymmetry whereby noncontacting subunits are symmetric, and their tertiary structure differs from that of contacting subunits.
