Axial forces in centrifugal compressor couplings

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
The article presents the results of the theoretical and experimental investigation of axial forces arising in the toothed and plate couplings of centrifugal compressor shaft lines. Additional loads on the thrust bearing are considered that can develop in the toothed couplings as a result of coupled rotors misalignment.

Torsion-axial force characteristics of SR-PLLA screws

Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, 1997
The torsion axial-force characteristics of biodegradable screws are central to their ability to generate interfragmentary compression when used as lag screws. The purpose of this investigation was to compare the torsion-axial force characteristics of prototype self-reinforced poly-L-lactide (SR-PLLA) screws with conventional titanium screws.

Reinforced Concrete Columns under Cyclic Axial Compressive Forces

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1993
The stress‐strain diagram of a short concrete specimen under compressive uniaxial load cycles is enveloped by a curve that matches the stress‐strain curve obtained under constantly increasing strain. At least eight published studies have shown that this envelope curve is unique with respect to a variety of excitation histories in the range of strain ...

Self-Force for Axial Linear Acceleration

2009
We now consider the dumbbell charge system under a linear acceleration along its axis as shown in Fig. 7.1. So we have two like charges q e /2, labelled A and B, and each is moving along the xaxis. We shall say that A has trajectory given by x A(t)=: x(t) in whatever inertial frame we have selected, with speed v A(t) =: v(t) = ẋ (t) and acceleration a A(
