Simulation Model of an Axial Piston Pump Inclusive of Cavitation
Fluid Power Systems and Technology, 2002A mathematical model of an axial piston pump is presented. The numerical model is based on a finite volume concept. The pump has been divided in different volumes where fluid properties are assumed homogeneous. Since the reduction of the pressure pulsations is one of the most important aims of pump builders, the effects of the port plate relief groove ...

Loads on the regulator of an axial-piston pump
Russian Engineering Research, 2010A mathematical model is developed for the piston chamber of an axial-piston pump. On the basis of the model, the pressure within the chamber may be investigated in different operating conditions; the load at the regulator due to the pressure may be estimated; and the design of the pump and the regulator may be optimized.

The kinematic analysis of axial-piston pumps
Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1983Abstract This investigation describes the kinematics of axial hydraulic pumps with spherical ended pistons. The results, however, apply to the basic kinematics of all axial piston pumps. The current hypothesis is that sliding at the piston/swash plate interface contributes to the wear of these parts.

Torque on the Swashplate of an Axial Piston Pump
Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1985As part of a study involving methods of control of an axial piston pump, it is required to obtain linear or linearized equations of motion of the system’s states. The torque imposed on the plate by the pumping action of the pistons is the most important term in the equation of motion of the swashplate.

Dynamic of an Axial Piston Pump With Floating Pistons
BATH/ASME 2024 Symposium on Fluid Power and Motion ControlAbstract A new structure of the axial piston pump was proposed to address the limitation of its application under low viscosity medium conditions due to the insufficient oil film bearing capacity. The piston of this structure is in a floating state in the axial direction, and both ends of the piston are supported by a discrete cylinder ...

Effect of piston clearance on the lubrication performance in axial piston pump
Industrial Lubrication and Tribology, 2019Purpose This paper aims to provide a reliable and efficient numerical piston–cylinder design method and assess the effect of clearance on the piston-cylinder lubrication. Design/methodology/approach Numerical analyses of lubrication characteristics were performed for the piston–cylinder interface.

The Cavitation Issue in Asymmetrical Axial-Piston Pumps
Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 2022Abstract Pump-controlled single-rod hydraulic actuators have long been the subject of intensive research toward building valve-less, more efficient systems. The main challenge is to deal with the uneven flows into and out of the differential cylinders.

Analysis and design of an axial piston water-pump with piston valve
Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2011In this paper, we present a novel axial piston water-pump with piston valve, which carries out the flow distribution to drain and sucks water by the interaction of each piston. This novel water-pump could achieve change in-phase between flow rate and the passage areas of the intake and outlet ports.

Study of a Novel Axial Piston Pump with Adjustable Tilting Piston
2019 IEEE 8th International Conference on Fluid Power and Mechatronics (FPM), 2019In pump-control system, the flow rate is controlled by the rotating rate of pump or the displacement of the pump. The fixed displacement axial piston pump is designed for the rated operating condition. Therefore, the volumetric efficiency becomes worse when the rotating rate becomes lower.

Design and simulation of axial piston pump with constant flow
IEEE 10th International Conference on Industrial Informatics, 2012There are flow pulsation in all existing piston pump, but this paper suggest a new constant flow method, and a axial piston pump with no flow pulsation in theory is designed. With the simulation in AMESim and MATLAB software, the dynamic characteristics of the new pump include pressure and flow are analyzed.
