BOUNDARY CONTROL AND STABILIZATION OF AN AXIALLY MOVING VISCOELASTIC STRING UNDER A BOUNDARY DISTURBANCE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we consider a system modelling an axially moving viscoelastic string subject to an unknown boundary disturbance. It is controlled by a hydraulic touch-roll actuator at the right boundary which is capable of suppressing the transverse ...

Vibration dissipation of an axially traveling string with boundary damping [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
At present, the control of vibration problem of many engineering equipment can be simplified as a study on transverse vibration of axially traveling string system.

Remote Activation of Wnt Signaling and Cell Proliferation by E‐Cadherin Magnetomechanical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pioneering magnetogenetic toolkit enables non‐invasive, precise spatiotemporal modulation of intracellular Wnt/β‐catenin signaling. Functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs@E/EC15) target cellular E‐cadherins to generate localized magnetomechanical forces under low‐intensity magnetic fields.

Models of accelerating universe in supergravity and string theory

open access: yes, 2021
We review models of the accelerating universe from the perspective of high-energy physics. Focusing on supergravity and the String Theory, we discuss the general framework for the construction of these models.

Stochastic Entanglement of Deterministic Origami Tentacles For Robust Robotic Grasping

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces an origami tentacle gripper to robustly grasp objects‐in air, underwater, and even in orbital space‐by exploiting a synergy between local, deterministic deformation programming and global, stochastic entanglements. A single origami tentacle can be designed to coil with a simple tendon pull.

Longitudinal Multifrequency MR Elastography Reveals Biomechanical Signatures of Progression in a Translational Liver Tumor Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Longitudinal multifrequency magnetic resonance elastography (mMRE) performed on a clinical 3 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging system reveals early biomechanical alterations during liver tumor progression in a translational VX2 model. Changes in tumor stiffness and viscosity precede diffusion‐related alterations and are associated with extracellular ...
