Primary Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Arising in Axillary Accessory Breast: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Society of Radiology
Ectopic breast tissue can develop along the mammary ridge from the axilla to the groin, and the most common site is the axillae. Primary carcinoma of ectopic breast tissue is extremely rare.

Accessory breast tissue—A matter for exigence!

open access: yesJournal of Family Medicine and Primary Care
Background: The accessory breast tissue is found in 6%. It is seen commonly in the axilla. It is asymptomatic or causes pain, restricts arm movement, causes cosmetic problems, or causes anxiety.

Phylogenetic systematics of Juncaceae

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Juncaceae has needed taxonomic revision for some time. Specifically, the genus Juncus s.l. is known to be paraphyletic because five small southern‐hemisphere genera have been shown repeatedly to be nested within it. In 2022, a new classification was proposed, based on phylogenies built from one nuclear and three plastid regions ...

Spectrum of Unusual Cytomorphology of Axillary Swellings: A Series of Four Cases [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
The axilla is a triangular area situated anatomically beneath the shoulder joint, between the upper arm and thorax. It contains lymph nodes and numerous non lymphatic tissues such as neurovascular structures, muscle, and fat. Axillary swellings can arise

Conditioning Electrical Stimulation for Patients with Moderate or Severe Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Double Blinded Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) can drastically impair one's ability to work and interferes with activities of daily living. We recently demonstrated that, in rodents, conditioning electrical stimulation (CES) delivered to the nerve 7 days prior to surgery imparts a conditioning lesion‐like effect by accelerating the rate of regeneration along ...

Vascular Injuries of the Axilla

open access: yesAnnals of Surgery, 1982
Between January 1970 and December 1980, 65 patients sustaining 85 vascular injuries of the axillary artery and/or vein were managed at the Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston, Texas. Concomitant injuries of the subclavian and/or brachial vessels were noted in 34 per cent of patients.

Mucin Glycoprotein Nanoparticles Enable a Selective Antisense Therapy for Oncogenic MicroRNAs

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Mucin glycoproteins are turned into nanoparticles by employing synthetic DNA strands, which have a dual function: they stabilize the nanoparticles and act as binding sites for intracellular miRNA‐21. Thus, upon internalization into tumor cells, these mucin nanoparticles can deplete miRNA‐21 from the cytosol, which induces apoptosis in vitro and in vivo.
