Deriving Denotational Semantics from Axiomatic Semantics within Constructive Set Theory

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we provide a constructive interpretation of Hoare logics with the constructive and intensional theory of program development TK. As a result it becomes possible to derive denotational semantics from axiomatic semantics; this facilitates a ...

Precautionary Saving against Correlation under Risk and Ambiguitya

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper considers precautionary saving against the correlation between two risky attributes (wealth and health) and investigates how the correlation affects optimal savings under multivariate preferences. The signs of higher‐order cross‐derivatives play a key role in determining the direction of precautionary saving against such correlation.

Axiomatization of Ratio Equilibria in Public Good Economies. [PDF]

open access: yes
Using consistency properties, we characterize the cost-sharing scheme arising from the ratio equilibrium concept for economies with public goods. The characterization turns out to be surprisingly simple and direct.

Banking with Inside Money: An Efficiency Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract We show that banks do not decentralize the first best in a nominal Diamond–Dybvig economy with inside money. Furthermore, state‐contingent deposit contracts do not expand the consumption possibility set to include the first best either. Central banks can improve welfare but only for savers and only with unconventional monetary policy. Finally,

Mixing It Up: Inflation at Risk

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract Understanding how risk factors shape the economic outlook is essential for guiding policy decisions. This paper develops a flexible framework that decomposes distributional risk forecasts of macro‐economic variables into underlying contributions and supports the construction of interpretable risk measures.

Axiomatic Set Theories And Common Sense

open access: yes, 1994
Various axiomatic set theories (ZF, NBG, NF, and KPU) are studied with a critical eye. The basic mathematical and philosophical reasons behind their axioms are given, as well as their review from the commonsense point of view.

Routine Dynamics at a Cardiac First‐Aid Unit: How Context, Emotions, and Identities Drive the Adaptation of Action Patterns

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Emotions are a catalyst for actions. They are therefore important for developing an understanding of organizational routines as generative patterns of interdependent actions. To investigate how the performances and action patterns of routines are impacted by emotion changes brought about by alterations in the context of routine enactment, we ...
