Independence of a Certain Axiomatic System [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1969
To prove the independence of the system of axioms introduced in [1 ] we exhibit here ten models, each of them satisfying all the axioms but one; e.g. model M5 fails to satisfy P5 of [1]. We call model F the Euclidean 3-space with the usual vector structure, introduce a suitable order function 4 and the usual notion of orthogonality. Let Ai(i = 1, 2, 3,

Ethical and Frugal Approaches to Animal Experimentation in Bioelectronics and Neural Engineering—An Invertebrate Renaissance?

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Invertebrates are the classic neuroscience models and should make a comeback. Invertebrate organisms can be a more ethical and cost‐effective way to move bioelectronics research forward more rapidly. ABSTRACT The accelerating development of bioelectronic neural interfaces has brought increased attention to ethical considerations surrounding in vivo ...

There is No Axiomatic System for the Quantum Theory

open access: yesInternational Journal of Theoretical Physics, 2009
Recently, [arXiv:0810.3134] is accepted and published. We derive an inequality with two settings as tests for the existence of the Bloch sphere in a spin-1/2 system. The probability theory of measurement outcome within the formalism of von Neumann projective measurement violates the inequality.

AI‐Driven Cancer Multi‐Omics: A Review From the Data Pipeline Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The exponential growth of cancer multi‐omics data brings opportunities and challenges for precision oncology. This review systematically examines AI's role in addressing these challenges, covering generative models, integration architectures, Explainable AI for clinical trust, clinical applications, and key directions for clinical translation.

Shapley Additive Explanation for Local Class Differentiation: Local Explainability for Class Differentiation in Classification Models

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An instance‐level, model‐agnostic explanation of class differentiation is introduced through SHAP‐LCD, linking probability shifts to feature‐wise Shapley contributions. The method operates on tabular and image data and is released in a fully reproducible implementation, offering a transparent way to examine, at each instance, why predictive models ...

Comments on “There Is No Axiomatic System for the Quantum Theory” [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Theoretical Physics, 2011
In a recent paper, Nagata [1] claims to derive inconsistencies from quantum mechanics. In this paper, we show that the inconsistencies do not come from quantum mechanics, but from extra assumptions about the reality of observables.

Accounting for animal health in efficiency analysis: An application to Swedish dairy farms

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Poor animal health is a central concern in modern livestock production. Despite the necessity to incorporate animal health in efficiency analysis, the theoretical and empirical developments are limited on this subject. This article appropriately characterizes the axiomatic properties of animal health within a production framework.

Axiomatic Design Aspect of a Braking System Redesign

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
A rollator is a commercial product on the market for aiding people with difficulty in walking by themselves. Users are typically strong enough to walk without aid, but will easily feel exhausted within short distances.
