ABSTRACT In several articles, McCall and Lowe have claimed that endurantism and perdurantism are “equivalent.” From this, they conclude that there is no fact of the matter as to whether we live in an endurantist world or in a perdurantist world. In this paper, I use the notion of Morita equivalence to show in which precise sense, McCall and Lowe's ...

The Formal Invariance of Fractal Operators Under Laplace Transform
This paper focuses on the invariant properties of fractal operators and aims to achieve the axiomatization of the theory of fractal operators. Building upon the derivative and integral theorems of the Laplace transform, we redefine the time differential ...

From Moral Supervenience to Moral Contingentism (In One Easy Step!)
ABSTRACT According to the Divide & Conquer (DC) strategy (Fogal and Risberg 2020) for explaining moral supervenience, the modal covariation between moral and natural properties can be partly explained by appeal to pure moral principles. Bhogal (2022) has recently argued that DC fails.

Here, I produce the mathematically-precise equivalent of the natural intuition that physics is the product and culmination of the scientific method. To do so, I first produce a model of science using mathematics, then I use it to derive the laws of physics by applying the (formalized) scientific method to the model.

Beyond Substitution—An Antipositionalist's Guide to Subtraction—
ABSTRACT Existing accounts of relations do not properly account for variably polyadic relations: they fail to capture the relationship between completions of the same relation by different numbers of relata. This paper develops a fully general account of such relations by adding an operation of subtraction to the antipositionalist theory of relations ...

Arbitrary Arrow Update Logic with Common Knowledge is neither RE nor co-RE [PDF]
Arbitrary Arrow Update Logic with Common Knowledge (AAULC) is a dynamic epistemic logic with (i) an arrow update operator, which represents a particular type of information change and (ii) an arbitrary arrow update operator, which quantifies over arrow ...

ABSTRACT Aim This study examines the predictive power of constructs from the health belief model (HBM) and theory of planned behaviour (TPB) in explaining malaria vaccine acceptance in Ghana in the post‐COVID‐19 era, while also assessing the reliability of these constructs within this context.

Abstract The foundational nature of expectations‐based theories and the prominence of symmetric unimodal stochastic assumptions in economic research render the expected outcome the go to locational focus throughout its many realms. When symmetric unimodality prevails, expected and most likely outcomes are identical; however, when it does not, they are ...

Axiomatizing Rumsfeld Ignorance
In a recent paper, Kit Fine presents some striking results concerning the logical properties of (first-order) ignorance, second-order ignorance and Rumsfeld ignorance. However, Rumsfeld ignorance is definable in terms of ignorance, which makes some existing results and the axiomatization problem trivial.

Model Ambiguity versus Model Misspecification in Dynamic Portfolio Choice
ABSTRACT We study aversion to model ambiguity and misspecification in dynamic portfolio choice. Risk‐averse investors (relative risk aversion γ>1$\gamma > 1$) fear return persistence, while risk‐tolerant investors (0<γ<1$0<\gamma <1$) fear mean reversion, when confronting model misspecification concerns of identically and independently distributed (IID)
