Biodegradation of AZ31 and WE43 Magnesium Alloys in Simulated Body Fluid
Biodegradation behavior and mechanism of AZ31 and WE43 magnesium alloys have been studied in the simulated body fluid (SBF). The results of weight loss tests indicate that corrosion rates of AZ31 alloy are lower than that of WE43 alloy.

Friction welding of magnesium alloy AZ31.
Magnesium alloy AZ31 was friction welded using a brake type friction welding machine under argon shielding. Microstructures and mechanical properties of the friction welded joints were investigated. The fine grain structure resulting from disappearance of fibrous one is observed closely near the weld interface.

Thermomechanical Processing of AZ31-3Ca Alloy Prepared by Disintegrated Melt Deposition (DMD)
Mg-3Zn-1Al (AZ31) alloy is a popular wrought alloy, and its mechanical properties could be further enhanced by the addition of calcium (Ca). The formation of stable secondary phase (Mg,Al)2Ca enhances the creep resistance at the expense of formability ...
