Vibration of a Laminated Beam with a Delamination Including Contact Effects
Certain results are presented in this paper on damped vibration of a laminated cantilever beam with a single closing delamination. In order to investigate this task the finite element method has been applied in the current study. For modelling the beam higher order shear deformation beam finite elements have been used.

ABSTRACT A significant portion of existing reinforced concrete (RC) structures in seismically active regions was constructed prior to the adoption of modern seismic design standards, leaving them highly susceptible to earthquake‐induced damage. The vulnerabilities of these structures, often exacerbated by material degradation, have been starkly ...

ABSTRACT Nonparasitic, nonmigratory Western Brook Lamprey (WBL; Lampetra ayresii), and parasitic, anadromous Western River Lamprey (WRL; L. ayresii) are sympatric lampreys that likely represent different life history variations of a single species. Novel genetic tools are critical for differentiating WBL and WRL, whose larvae preclude morphological ...

Geodetic Strain Rates and Seismicity Rates Along the Apennines (Italy)
Abstract The Apennines are a tectonically active belt that has experienced significant earthquakes (Mw> ${ >} $6). The largest events primarily occurred along the chain axis, where a complex system of normal faults accommodates 2–3 mm/yr of SW‐NE oriented extension, as precisely measured by a dense Global Navigation Satellite System network.
