ABSTRACT Paralic depositional systems are complex and heterogeneous sedimentary environments, presenting challenges for predicting reservoir architecture and connectivity. Their stratigraphic and facies variability arises from the dynamic interplay between fluvial, tidal and wave processes, and their sensitivity to sea‐level fluctuations, sediment ...

Abstract We present new results from ambient noise tomography and azimuthal anisotropy analysis of the DOMERAPI data set to investigate crustal structure beneath the Merapi‐Merbabu‐Telomoyo region in central Java. The 3D shear‐wave velocity (Vs) model reveals a prominent high‐Vs anomaly extending from south of Merapi through Merbabu to Telomoyo ...

Association of Picket‐Fence With Auroral Continuum Emissions
Abstract We present observations of aurora‐like “picket‐fence” emissions occurring simultaneously with broad‐band auroral continuum emission structures. The continuum structures exhibit spectral properties similar to the Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement (STEVE), but appear at higher latitudes, alongside the aurora.

Removing the Azimuth Ambiguities of Point Targets in Synthetic Aperture Radar Images.
This paper proposes a method for removing the azimuth ambiguities of point targets in SAR images. The basic idea is to generate a two dimensional reference function for the SAR processing which provides, in addition to the matched filtering for the ...

Reconsideration of Ambiguities in Quad-Pol SAR [PDF]
Merging the complex signals available from both cross-polarized (cross-pol) channels of a quad-polarimetric (quad-pol) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) may lead not only to a 3-dB gain in the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), but also to a remarkable ...

Abstract Bouncing packets are quasi‐periodic microbursts separated by the electron bounce period. Solar Anomalous and Magnetospheric Particle Explorer observations revealed relativistic (>1 MeV) inner‐belt bouncing packets with “crown,” “decaying,” and “flat” envelopes.

Ambiguity Analysis and Resolution for Phase-Based 3D Source Localization under Given UCA
Under uniform circular array, by employing some algebraic schemes to exploit the phase information of receiving data and further estimate the source’s three-dimensional (3D) parameters (azimuth angle, elevation angle, and range), a series of novel phase ...

Abstract Intracontinental deformation records how early Eocene India–Asia collisional stress propagated into continental interiors. How rapidly compression reached the far field, and whether coeval Paleo‐Pacific slab dynamics contributed, remain debated. The Longzhong Basin, ∼1,900 km north of the collisional zone, provides a key test.

Ultra-Wide Swath SAR Imaging With Continuous PRF Variation [PDF]
Innovative multi-channel synthetic aperture radar (SAR) concepts enable high-resolution wide-swath imaging, but the antenna length typically restricts the achievable swath width.

Listening to Tsunami Waves Induced by Glacier Calving
Abstract Processes at the ice–ocean interface play a central role in regulating the stability of marine‐terminating glaciers and ice sheets and drive ocean freshening and mixing. Iceberg calving—a mechanical loss of ice—generates ocean waves and promotes water‐mass exchange in glacierized bays.
