Characteristics of Azimuthal Anisotropy in Narrow-Azimuth Marine Streamer Data
68th EAGE Conference and Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2006, 2006Towed-streamer acquisition samples a narrow range of azimuths. We discuss the resulting sensitivity of such data to azimuthal velocity anisotropy. Correction for such effects, for example by using a residual moveout correction before migration, can significantly improve the imaging in such situations.

Statistical moments for azimuthal anisotropy characterization

The depth distribution of azimuthal anisotropy in the continental upper mantle
Nature, 2007The most likely cause of seismic anisotropy in the Earth's upper mantle is the lattice preferred orientation of anisotropic minerals such as olivine. Its presence reflects dynamic processes related to formation of the lithosphere as well as to present-day tectonic motions.

Direct photon spectra and azimuthal anisotropy
Nuclear and Particle Physics Proceedings, 2016The transverse momentum distribution and azimuthal anisotropy of direct photon production in Au+Au collisions at sNN=200 GeV were measured in the PHENIX experiment at RHIC. Through the external conversion method, earlier yield and v2 measurements were extended down to pT = 0.4 GeV/c.

Image-guided WEMVA for azimuthal anisotropy
SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2013, 2013Azimuthal anisotropy is common in layered basins with strong folding and fracturing effects. Traditional processing on individual azimuths usually yields images with inconsistent depths. In this paper, we propose to use an image obtained from one azimuth to constrain the image-space velocity analysis on other azimuths.
