Investigation of particle coherence in Pb+Pb collisions at LHC

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
The observed particle distributions in Pb+Pb collisions at LHC are investigated. Monte Carlo simulations of the azimuthal anisotropy i.e. flow, and transverse momentum spectra provide insights in e.g. hadron genesis and in medio scattering.

Crevasse-induced Rayleigh-wave azimuthal anisotropy on Glacier de la Plaine Morte, Switzerland

open access: yesAnnals of Glaciology, 2019
Crevasses and englacial fracture networks route meltwater from a glacier's surface to the subglacial drainage system and thus influence glacial hydraulics.

Azimuthal Anisotropy and Correlations in the Hard Scattering Regime at RHIC [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2003
Azimuthal anisotropy ($v_2$) and two-particle angular correlations of high $p_T$ charged hadrons have been measured in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=130 GeV for transverse momenta up to 6 GeV/c, where hard processes are expected to contribute significantly.

Review on crustal anisotropy investigations beneath the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau based on azimuthal variations of receiver functions

open access: yes地球与行星物理论评
Seismic anisotropy provides key information about the past and present deformations of the crust and mantle below and is crucial for understanding the interior structure of the Earth and deep dynamic processes.

On the Relationship Between Oceanic Plate Speed, Tectonic Stress, and Seismic Anisotropy

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2022
Seismic radial anisotropy (the squared ratio between the speeds of horizontally and vertically polarized shear waves, ξ=VSH2VSV2) is a powerful tool to probe the direction of mantle flow and accumulated strain.

Comparative analysis of Pn full-waveform inversion and travel-time tomography in imaging upper mantle azimuthal anisotropy

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Conventional Pn-wave imaging techniques, typically based on the ray theory, rely on Pn travel times to resolve the 2-D velocity and azimuthal anisotropy structures of the uppermost mantle. However, these approaches neglect the finite-frequency effects of

Effects of Fracture Parameters in an Anisotropy Model on P-Wave Azimuthal Amplitude Responses [PDF]

open access: yesITB Journal of Engineering Science, 2006
The study showed that the presence of vertically aligned fractures in reservoir rock could possibly be inferred through analysis of P-wave reflectivity variations with azimuth.

New experimental constrains on chiral magnetic effect using charge-dependent azimuthal correlation in pPb and PbPb collisions at the LHC

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Studies of charge-dependent azimuthal correlations for the same- and oppositesign particle pairs are presented in PbPb collisions at 5 TeV and pPb collisions at 5 and 8.16 TeV, with the CMS experiment at the LHC.
