BIODEGRADATION OF AZO DYE BY ADAPTED MIXED MICROBIAL CULTURES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Wastewater effluents from azo dye production and other dye-stuff using industries contain significant amounts of highly resistant azo dyes that require special treatment processes to prevent groundwater contamination.

Azo dye formation in 5-hydroxycoumarins

open access: yes, 1944
The 5-hydroxycoumarins behave very similar to 7-hydroxycoumarins in regard to azo-dye formation with one and more than two molecular proportions of diazotisedp-nitraniline.

Contact Allergy to Textile Dye Mix in Italy: A SIDAPA Multicentre Observational Study

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
From January 2020 to March 2025, 7633 patients (69.2% females) underwent patch test with textile dye mix 6.6%. 281 (3.7%, F 77.2%) resulted positive (59.8% relevant), mainly non‐occupational (89.9%). The observed prevalence (3.7%), even if with decreasing trend, exceeds that of previous Italian (1.5%) and European (2%–3%) studies.

Laser-induced surface and bulk reorientation of the director in azo-dye-doped liquid crystal cells

open access: yes, 2001
The director reorientation in the liquid crystals (LCs) cells initiated by the trans-cis isomerization of azo-dyes was studied with the aid of pump-probe-beam experiments.

Comparative evaluation of reactive dye structures on colour strength enhancement in caustic‐treated regenerated bamboo fabrics

open access: yesColoration Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Regenerated bamboo fibres offer a sustainable alternative to conventional cellulosic materials; however, achieving high and reproducible colour strength with reactive dyes may depend on both fibre accessibility and dye molecular architecture.

Investigating the Efficiency of Wastewater Treatment Plant Sludge in Removing Azo Dye Reactive Red 195 from Synthetic Wastewater in Aerobic and Anaerobic Conditions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences
Background and purpose: Azo dyes are present in the wastewater of most textile factories, and if they enter water resources, they pose risks to the health of humans and the living environment due to the effects of toxicity, biological accumulation, and ...

Textile Effluent Containing Azo Dyes Eco-Friendly Bioremediation using Lentinus sp. in a Packed-Bed Bioreactor with Pine Sawdust as an Organic Inducer

open access: yesUniversitas Scientiarum
Industrial textile effluents containing azo dyes pose a major environmental challenge due to their persistence and toxicity. This study evaluated the capacity of a native white-rot fungus (Lentinus sp.) to treat a real textile effluent polluted with an ...

Synthesis of a cyclodextrin azo dye [3]rotaxane as a single isomer

open access: yes, 1999
Azo coupling between 2,6-dimethylphenol and aqueous 4,4'-bis(diazonio)azobenzene chloride in the presence of α-cyclodextrin yields an azo dye [3]rotaxane as a single stereoisomer, with the 2,3-rims of both cyclodextrins pointing ...

Reactive Red 195‐loaded halloysite for cotton dyeing and printing: Adsorption, characterisation and comparison with conventional exhaustion dyeing

open access: yesColoration Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Textile wet processing generates dye‐containing effluents that require effective recovery and valorisation strategies. Halloysite nanoclay was used to capture Reactive Red 195 from a model aqueous solution, and the resulting dye‐loaded solid (REDHA7) was subsequently applied once to cotton by exhaustion dyeing and pigment‐type printing ...

Advances in organic UV filters for sunscreens over the past decade

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Highlighted organic UV filter frameworks that have been described for sunscreens over the past decade divided into three groups: derivatives of or inspired by approved organic UV filters, natural product‐based compounds, and miscellaneous. Abstract Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a major environmental factor in photoaging, erythema, and skin cancer ...
