From Planar to Patterned: Structured Boron‐Doped Diamond Electrodes for Electrochemical Sensing

open access: yesAnalysis &Sensing, Volume 6, Issue 5, September 2026.
Structuring transforms boron‐doped diamond (BDD) from a planar electrode into a versatile sensing platform. This mini‐review surveys top‐down and bottom‐up fabrication routes, shows how structural design reshapes electrochemical behavior—enhancing current response, lowering oxidation potentials, and improving selectivity and stability—and then ...

Synthesis, Characterization, and DFT of Some Thiazole Derivatives as Carbon Steel Corrosion Inhibitors in 1 M HCl

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
By reacting 2‐(1‐(4‐aminophenyl)ethylidene)hydrazine‐1‐carbothioamide (1) with various α‐halocarbonyl compounds, such as 3‐chloropentane‐2,4‐dione 2 and 1‐chloro‐1‐((4‐substituted phenyl)diazenyl)propan‐2‐one 4a–c, this work produces a new series of thiazole derivatives 3 and 5a–c.

Synthesis, Characterization, In Vitro and In Silico Investigation of Azo‐Based Co(III), Zn(II), and Pd(II) Complexes Against Human Leukemia

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
A novel azo ligand (IDB) and its Co(III), Zn(II), and Pd(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized. The Pd(II) complex demonstrated potent activity against HL‐60 leukemia cells, modulated oxidative stress markers (MDA, CAT), and showed strong binding affinity (−6.6367 kcal/mol) to the Aurora kinase enzyme in molecular docking studies.

Natural South African iron‐rich sand as a functional catalyst in hybrid photocatalytic wet peroxide oxidation technology for the degradation of methyl orange dye pollutant

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 9, Page 4829-4840, September 2026.
This research explored South African iron‐rich sand (SAIRS) as a natural catalyst for light‐mediated wet peroxide oxidation of methyl orange dye in wastewater and at an optimized of conditions of 3500 mg/L catalyst dose, 6 mM H2O2, and pH 2.5, SAIRS achieved 94% methyl orange degradation within 90 min under visible light.

Co‐Acid Free Nitration of N,N‐Dimethylanilines Using Traditional and Nontraditional Activation Methods

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2026.
Selective mono‐ and dinitration of dimethylanilines by co‐acid‐free dilute aqueous nitric acid using nontraditional activation methods, such as microwave, ultrasound, and high hydrostatic pressure. The nitration of aromatic compounds is a highly important transformation, contributing to the synthesis of dyes, agrochemicals, explosives, pharmaceuticals,
