Heterocyclic azo dyes. I. Azo Dyes Containing the Benzotriazole Nucleus
Journal für Praktische Chemie, 1967AbstractThe synthesis, some dyeing, and fastness properties of several new dispersed, acid, and direct dyes derived from the aminobenzotriazoles (I–IV) and 5‐hydroxybenzotriazole (V) are described. The suitability of the amino derivatives (I–IV) as bases for azoic dyeing has also been studied.

Spectroscopic ellipsometry investigation of azo dye and azo dye doped polymer
The European Physical Journal Applied Physics, 2006The optical constants of azo dye (Methyl Red (MR)) and azo dye doped polymer (ADP) (Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA)) MR/PMMA have been investigated using Variable Angle Spectroscopic Ellipsometry (VASE). Pure MR was modeled using Lorentz formula with three oscillators. A Bruggmann effective medium approximation layer was employed with three constituents (

Twenty‐one water‐soluble azo dyes– mono‐, bis‐, tris‐, and tetrakis‐azo, selected from the acid, basic, mordant, and direct dyeing classes–have been examined by polarographic methods. The object was to determine how far these methods could be used for the identification and estimation of azo dyes in general.

Abstract Any liquid azo dyes, in which auxochrome such as dialkylamino, alkoxy, and amino group is attached in a molecule, were produced. In a series of 2-alkyl-4’-(dimethylamino)azobenzenes, the butyl, hexyl, octyl, and dodecyl derivatives were liquid at room temperature, whereas the propyl, 1-methylethyl, 1-methylpropyl, 1,1-dimethylethyl, and ...

The significance of azo-reduction in the mutagenesis and carcinogenesis of azo dyes
Mutation Research/Reviews in Genetic Toxicology, 1983Azo dyes are widely used in textile, printing, cosmetic, drug and food-processing industries. They are also used extensively in laboratories as either biological stains or pH indicators. The extent of such use is related to the degree of industrialization.

Biodegradation is a cost-effective method to remove the residues of azo dyes prior to their discharge in wastewater streams from dye product industries. The efficacy of this treatment method is highly dependent on establishing an effective degrader community and maintaining environmental conditions that support the growth and activity of the degrader ...
