Hyperbranched Azopolymer with Quadruple Responsibility

Chinese Journal of Polymer Science, 2021
Simply constructing multiple responsive polymers with obvious shape and dimension variations on their assemblies upon different stimuli is still rarely reported. In this study, we report a hyperbranched polymer named HPAzoBAHB-star-PEG9 with quadruple-response to light, temperature, pH and oxidation stimuli. The polymer contains azobenzene chromophore,

Synthesis and bacterial degradation of an azopolymer

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2000
Azopolymers were synthesised with differing degrees of hydrophobicity, from 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate (HEMA), styrene and 2,2'-dimethylacryloyloxyazobenzene as azo crosslinker. Bacterial degradation of the series of polymers was assessed using a pure culture of the colonic organism Enterococcus faecalis and rat caecal contents. Polymer degradation was

Photomanipulated Architecture and Patterning of Azopolymer Array

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2017
Here reported is the approach to prepare the tunable 3D architecture and patterning through photoinduced orientation of azopolymer. The hemispherical PAzoMA array can be transformed into spindlelike, flat ellipsoidlike, thick spindlelike, near-hexagon, near-quadrangle, and near-rhombus arrays while being exposed to linearly polarized light (LPL).

Azopolymer photopatterning for directional control of angiogenesis

Acta Biomaterialia, 2017
Understanding cellular behavior in response to microenvironmental stimuli is central to tissue engineering. An increasing number of reports emphasize the high sensitivity of cells to the physical characteristics of the surrounding milieu and in particular, topographical cues.

Running holograms in azopolymer films

Applied Physics B, 2013
We report investigations on running holograms recorded in an azopolymer film made of a poly(methyl methacrylate) matrix doped with Disperse Red 1. Two-wave mixing experiments were carried out in the symmetrical transmission geometry. A stabilization technique was employed for active control of the phase shift between the real-time hologram and the ...

Nanostructuration of azopolymer nanotubes and nanofoils

2009 3rd ICTON Mediterranean Winter Conference (ICTON-MW), 2009
Advance in the manipulation of objects by optical fields become more and more important for the future of nanotechnology. In this direction, assembly of nanometer-scaled building blocks into new device configurations is an intensively investigated research field in nanotechnology.

Azopolymer based nanoparticles for phototriggered drug delivery

2019 41st Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2019
Controlled release by stimulus-responsive nanoparticles is oriented to increase the specificity of drug delivery, to improve the therapy effectiveness and minimizing side effects. This work presents the synthesis of photosensitive-polymeric nanoparticles as a potential system for localized drug delivery.

Proximity field nanopatterning of azopolymer thin films

Nanotechnology, 2010
A method for inscribing surface relief gratings in azopolymer thin films via proximity field nanopatterning is reported. Azopolymers prepared by ring opening metathesis polymerization were cast as thin films and brought into conformal contact with transparent polydimethylsiloxane phase masks.

Time dependent spectral birefringence excited with laser light in azopolymers and azopolymers doped with ZnO

SPIE Proceedings, 2017
Azopolymers are one of the most efficient types of media for recording the polarization state of light. An essential optical parameter to characterize them is the value of the birefringence Δ n induced on illumination with polarized light. Laser beam is used as a pump and the birefringence is commonly probed by another laser with wavelength, different

Polarization holographic recording in thin films of pure azopolymer and azopolymer based hybrid materials

Optical Materials, 2017
Abstract Recently, a birefringence enhancement effect was observed in azopolymers doped with various nanoparticles. The paper presents comparison between the parameters of polarization holographic gratings recorded in a pure azopolymer PAZO (Poly[1-[4-(3-carboxy-4-hydroxyphenylazo) benzenesulfonamido]-1,2-ethanediyl, sodium salt]) and in a hybrid ...
