Malposition of a Port Catheter in the Azygos Vein: Endovascular Repositioning Using a Long Loop Snare Technique

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 108, Issue 1, Page 33-35, July 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Port catheters provide a reliable, long‐term venous access option in children for repeated administration of medications or parenteral nutrition. A cardiac catheterization procedure was performed in a 7‐year‐old girl in whom lateral chest radiography revealed posterior deviation suggestive of azygos vein malposition.

Transcatheter Repair of Sinus Venosus Defect Using a 12‐zig Covered Cheatham‐Platinum Stent in Large Superior Vena Cava—Right Atrium Junctions: Early Multicenter Experience

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 108, Issue 1, Page 104-113, July 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Sinus venosus defect (SVD) is a rare congenital heart anomaly characterised by an abnormal communication between the atria, often associated with partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC). Traditional surgical repair carries significant risks, prompting exploration into less invasive transcatheter approaches.

Inferior Vena Cava Filter Fracture Presenting as Deep Vein Thrombosis

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Long‐term indwelling inferior vena cava filters can cause device fracture and chronic caval occlusion, leading to deep vein thrombosis. Clinicians should consider filter‐related complications in patients with a history of inferior vena cava filter placement who present with lower extremity edema or thrombosis even many years after placement.

How to Define the Gastroesophageal Junction

open access: yesDigestive Endoscopy, Volume 38, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Adenocarcinomas at the gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) are increasingly common worldwide. Current classifications, such as Siewert type II and Nishi, provide a foundation, but establishing a transparent and widely accepted framework could considerably enhance identification and treatment efforts.

Left upper lung cancer with persistent left superior vena cava and left azygos vein: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, 2020
Background With the popularization of thoracoscopic surgery, more and more macrovascular malformations have been reported. Understanding some vascular malformations with relatively fixed anatomical site and their range of drainage could avoid severe ...
