A Novel Method for Estimating Acoustic Emission b Value Using Improved Magnitudes
IEEE Sensors Journal, 2021The coustic emission (AE) b value plays an important role in studying structural damage evolution and disaster precursors. The b value can be obtained from the least square fit between AE event number and magnitude (the Gutenberg-Richter relationship ...

Multiscale Temporal and Spatial Estimation of the b-Value
, 2021The estimation of the b-value of the Gutenberg–Richter law is of great importance in different seismological applications. However, its estimate is strongly dependent upon selecting a proper temporal and spatial scale, due to the multiscale nature of ...

High b-value diffusion imaging
Neuroimaging Clinics of North America, 2002Perhaps one of the greatest benefits of the development of high b-value technology has been the insight provided into the physiologic basis of diffusion imaging. The multiexponential features of the diffusion process are revealed on scans obtained with high b-value.

Optimal b Values for Generation of Computed High-b-Value DW Images
American Journal of Roentgenology, 2016The purpose of this study was to investigate the optimal b values required for the generation of computed high-b-value DW images.Brain DWI was performed for eight subjects using 16 b values, ranging from 0 s/mm(2) to 5000 s/mm(2). The fractional value as the turning point between the fast and slow components was determined using a diffusion decay curve.

How to be fooled searching for significant variations of the b-value
, 2020An unbiased estimation of the b-value and of its variability is essential to verify empirically its physical contribution to the earthquake generation process, and the capability to improve earthquake forecasting and seismic hazard. Notwithstanding the

FORECASTING b-VALUES FOR SEISMIC EVENTS
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1996A technique of nonlinear deterministic prediction is applied to test the short-term predictability of b-values for seismic events recorded in Tangshan region in China. The prediction results are satisfactory and significantly better than that of conventional AR models.

$${\fancyscript{B}}$$ -Valued fuzzy variable
Soft Computing, 2008In this paper, the concept of $${\fancyscript{B}}$$ -valued fuzzy variable is first presented. Then, some mathematical properties of $${\fancyscript{B}}$$ -valued fuzzy variable are also investigated, including independence, identical distribution, expected value, variance, inequalities, convergence concepts, and so on.

Standard-b-Value Versus Low-b-Value Diffusion-Weighted Imaging in Hepatic Lesion Discrimination
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 2016We sought to determine the comparative diagnostic performance of standard-b-value (500-1000s/mm) versus low-b-value (≤500 s/mm) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in the discrimination of hepatic lesions.A total of 1775 hepatic malignant lesions and 1120 benign hepatic lesions from 21 studies were included.(1) The global sensitivity was 0.86 (95 ...
